My S1 just does not run right above 5000 RPM, breaks up. I don't think it is ignition or spark plugs. Supposedly per the PO, it has a Dynojet kit in it. I don't have the original carb parts. I am not sure what parts were changed, but I would like to start from a stock baseline to figure this out. So I am looking for a good condition CV40 preferably from an S1, or maybe the springs, needles, jets, and so on from one. Guess I could get an HSR42 as an alternate idea. | ||

Open up the carb. The jets should have their sizes imprinted on them. If not......For my S1, I started with a 45 Low Speed jet, and 190 Main Jet. Then I seated the mixture screw and back it out 2.5 turns. It ran so well after that, that I haven't touched it since. You should be able to get them at any Harley/bike shop for like $4 a piece. |
