I am the original owner of this bike. Lots of add ons as you can hopefully see from the pics. The bike does have a scratch on the right side bag as you can see from the pics. Have always kept the bike inside and plugged into a battery tender. Hate to sell the bike but obviously I'm not riding it so it needs to go to someone that will. I do have the stock muffler and turn signals and a Madstad wind screen set up that goes with the bike, a new belt, a set of wheel bearings and service manuals a gel backrest pad. The following is a list of some of what I've done to the bike. If you would like more info or pics let me know. Precision Engineering shift and brake levers and lowered foot pegs CRG bar end mirrors Palmer Products highway peg set up, bar ends, hand guard wind deflectors Rox risers fuel filler cap Drummer SS muffler EBR ecm Memphis shades wind deflectors K & N filter Scotts oil filter XPC custom seat Moto Fizz tank bag led turn signals HID headlight bulbs you should be able to click on the pics to see more

What # XP is this? |

Be aware that the XP's were . . . 1) not necessarily sequential 2) Some (I have all the factory literature) were built, at dealerships from "XP conversion kits". In other words . . . a person could have a legitimate XP, one that was sold, for instance to the United States Park Service, that was . . ."made into an XP". Clear as mud I suspect . . . . . I actually found a couple of the lighted green "pursuit mode" switches from the XP era the other day. EDIT: Sorry . . I didn't notice the other 3 documents were marked RESTRICTED CONFIDENTIAL until I posted them. I doubt there is much about them that's secret anymore but . . . Just to dispel the idea that the XP's were built on the production line . . . . . |

True factory meant XP have VIN denoted by "DB", they were sequential from 00001-00122 for 2009 & 00001-00015 for 2010. If it does not have that then it is a "DX" convert and should be listed as such, if it has a complete police kit, then you could call it an XP but the vin will be a normal X. They could be special ordered but most were white. Does that have the "special duty" tank cover? I have found 48 XP numbers and all VIN are within the 1-122 for 09 & 1-15 for 2010. Yet to come across an outside VIN. I have heard some are non sequential. But I haven't come across any evidence backing that up. |

I have a 2009 XP, DB vin, number 111. Mine had the top portions of the bags painted white and was used on a movie set (or so I was told by the dealer). A question for you is what is the special duty tank cover?

I have the factory build sheets with complete details including who built it, any "exceptions" and deviations from normal build procedures. But . . beyond that I am guessing. There were bikes shipped with NO "XP equipment" that had DB VIN and the conversion was done either by a dealer or an agency. I had a stack of the Special Duty stickers and, unless they got pitched, they are still buried in the boxes of Buell stuff. |

Yea that^ So now I know of 49 XP. That's an odd thing to do unless it had something to do with lighting on set. Doesn't look hateful tho, the junior. "Flash" bags had top half white but I've only seen a handful of those. Yes all of them were shipped "normal" with the kit as extra to be put on by dealer or special build. If there are extra XP bits somewhere I'd be more than willing to buy some. I know where 2 never run XP are with full police kits #44 and #9x. Were delivered and kept in dealer warehouses by the owners. I'm sure there are a few in California that will never see light of day. |

I wouldn't mind having a couple of those "Special Duty" decals. My bikes are "Special" Matt |

Sorry to the OP for the thread hijack. Jrobey7, I just checked my 09 that I purchased from Jdugan. It's a DB vin# 12. Court, I wouldn't mind picking up an additional "Special Duty" sticker for my XP. I plan on buying another white airbox cover and taking the original off and put it up for safe keeping with the original lights and green switch. (Message edited by slowride on August 03, 2014) |

>>>SOMEONE SELL me an EXTRA kit! I want to do something cool with it! I suspect there are plenty out there since they didn't come from Buell. That's how i got a lot of the stuff . . . when someone on Badweb intimated that "only Law Enforcement can buy" . . . I order all the various parts through the normal dealer system. They were done by the , Shrine, FD & LEO group and are normal part numbers. If they are out there, you can generally have any of the components in days. In addition there is nothing "rare, unusual or collectible" . . . all the parts are simple off the shelf stuff that was bought to create the kits. |

Great thread! I just acquired 2009 DB#85. It came with the light bar and the special bracket to fit the switch in Courts picture. Unfortunately I do not have a parts book (yet) to complete the kit. I am also missing the LED lights and the horn. Is there a list of Police part #s? Also, Court, I saw an earlier post of yours which listed the part number for the special duty decal. It looks like I can order it, but I haven't found one in stock anywhere yet. If you want to sell me one, I would be happy to deal with you :-) As you know, my specialty are tubers, I am only warming and catching on to Uly fever :-) |

Cornel: parts should be no problem. There were no special parts made for the XP series. Everything was off the shelf The primary advantage to buying it as a kid, was simply some cost savings. The one part that might be difficult is the frame extension that the siren speaker attached to. I bet you can find all the parts in stock at Buell dealers. I was kind of sorry that the XP idea didn't gain traction. I attribute part of it to the fact that the HD motors people do that largely as an anomaly, a departure from their traditional FL H mindset Somewhere I still have a box of Motors catalogs and some of the confidential program information from the development of the XP. By the way, as one of the few people to have ever been nabbed on a Buell law enforcement special edition, bye real law enforcement people, I can tell you that they don't treat it as a joke or take it lightly. Use appropriate caution. |

I'll jump into the hijack. I have 2009 DB VIN 0074. It came without the 'kit' but has the siren/speaker mount, extra wiring and 'special duty' cover. As shipped it had a black air box cover and white front plate. Cheers. |
