Bike is still for sale if interested buyer ended up not buying it because he wanted to pay everything to paypal which I read you can be scammed by it.If anyone is interested let me know you can email me at mc4life95ci@aol.com if interested. Also bike just had a oil service and the motorcycle comes with brand new tires. |

Hey friend. Paypal is pretty safe, just don't give out your password. There aren't a lot of other options to be paid. |

Paypal is way stacked in favor of the buyer, for better or worse. I'd be nervous taking it for a big purchase as well (though I might still do so under the right circumstances). |

I got a BIG surprise about 3 years ago . . on the sale of a $3000 guitar . . . when I had Paypal "linked" to my bank account. Took an attorney to go after eBay to sort out. I trust neither P:aypal or eBay further than I can spit. When I get payment by Paypal, I have it sent to me and when I have GREEN AMERICAN DOLLAR BILLS in my hands . . . I ship. |

That's it in the nutshell. Is it easy for somebody to screw you via paypal? Yes, it's trivial. Will you eventually be able to get unscrewed? More than likely, but you will probably stay screwed for a significant amount of time and have to devote a significant amount of money to sort it out. I'll sell and take payment by paypal, it is about the only way to do online transactions. But not for more than I would be willing to walk away from. If you did do it, you could stipulate that the seller has to lie on the paypal transaction, and call it a gift. Watch for fees also, paypal will be an expensive way to do it for someone. |

Make sure you know what "linked" means and understand what YOU gave Paypal permission to do when you clicked "I agree" :-) |

Agreed with all above counts. Not only are the PayPal fees alone for said bike $220, but eBay/PayPal rules are stacked so highly for the buyer that if they really want to screw you, they can. Even if you move the $$$ to your bank and pull the cash out, PayPal can still try to pull the $$$ with a $0 balance in the account. If they can't get it, they will show your PayPal balance in the negative as well and can eventually seek out payment through debt collectors and scar your credit. |

Ya good point Phelan that is why I don't use it for stuff like this because all the person has to do is lie and say they didn't get it or it wasn't as described and PayPal will make you pay it all back. |

Some friendly editing of your ad... My Son and I are in a financial situation and need to sell our motorcycles, his is a 2009 XB12SS in another ad. The Ulysses parts that are not in the pictures, I have. I was getting my bike set up for the Summer when we ran into our problem; I have all the Parts and they are included in the Sale. I will also be going over both Motorcycles and including fresh Oil and Filters. Questions just ask. Bike runs awesome. |

Hey Everyone, While I can't claim that I've read ALL of the Paypal fine print, I did read that Paypal does not extend the same transaction protections when payments are sent via "gift". So if you are screwed (i.e. you send payment, seller doesn't send item) in a "gifted" Paypal transaction, there's little recourse. Your money's gone. |

That's my understanding as well, but like you, I don't claim to have parsed all the fine print lawyer weasel words. |

Yea. Online stuff is all the same, it can be hacked, mis used or refuted. I paid family/gift for the barn find 9sx last month. JUST Exchange contact info and ask questions, disclose all the issues, send more pictures, blah blah... Everything worked out fine & I'm riding yet another buell for pennies. That's a cheap 2010, I'm sure who ever bid on it had been searching for awhile and finally found a good deal only to be let down. I've had stuff shipped to MD from TX, NC & FL without issue either way. Just saying |
