Sadly I have to let go of these (rare?) PM Calipers. I am having some health issues, and need to sell off several of my Buell collector's items. These are in beautiful condition, and are complete with all bolts, pins, and even a new set of brake pads. Unsure of what all years they will fit, but they fit on my M2 and S3 forks. Asking $700, drop me a line if interested :-)

Are those the same as these? Bidding to $60 didn't reach their reserve. I think you're a little high. http://www.ebay.com/itm/PM-6-piston-Buell-caliper- /251408023291?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&has h=item3a8915fefb&vxp=mtr |

I've gotten a couple of offers, so I'm a little torn...didn't mean to make this a bidding war, but last year was a rough one, toughest since my heart attack. Need an opinion or two. Should I post my highest offer and see if anyone wants to top it? |

Not long ago somebody sold a complete set consisting of 2 LH *RH used Buell PM calipers with 2 Discs ( I think wave not oem Buell ) and a rear PM caliper with PM disc on Ebay for 2000 $ !! And the only rare parts in this set were the 2 calipers and these were used. |

If you offer the sale of an item at a price and someone agrees to it, thats a contract, and should be honored. Later, higher, prices offered to you don't change your word of honor. |

Well said Jayvee. I am not on your side on this one Fuzzz. If this sale was listed as, "items sell to the highest bidder", that should have been stated at the onset, not after someone has already agreed to pay your asking price. A sale of good faith is just that...you posted the parts with a price you were willing to sell at, you got it, it's done. |

Common sense. "I will sell it for $700" "Ok, I'll pay you the $700" The first person, both legally and morally, to agree to the $700 bought it. It's unavailable for sale after that. |

These are all good points, and that is why I asked if I should display the higher offer, which came in an hour or so before the email below from Mmcustoms. I spoke to the higher bidder and he agreed to let Mmcustoms have them. So I will sell for $700 + shipping (It should be less than $15, I just don't have it to spare) Mmcustoms, I didn't understand what you meant by "And will you 7 shipped to St. Paul mn 55117" Some days I just don't function very well, and I'm just doing the best I can. I'll try to think things through better before I stick my foot in my mouth again. Court, I'm the dummy who used a red towel, it was better than my usual black ones... LOL!} |

Ok, this may be a dumb question and forgive my ignorance - but exactly why are these worth so much? I bought a running titled X1 for $900 a couple months ago, that seems like a much better deal than a set of calipers to me... Even if they are "rare", that alone doesn't make them valuable. Not being critical, just trying to understand... |

They are a pair a left and a right so you can run dual front brakes It's a lot of money for calipers but try to find another set around I've been looking for a long time |

"There are only 8 or 15 sets in the entire world" thats what I heard also but if you ( Jan ) has already 2 sets, I have some also :-) and one is for sale here now are they really that rare ? Nevermind its a great piece of Buell history and I wouldnt use them just for display |

:-) And there's a damn good reason there are only "8 to 15 set in the entire world". But . . they are, like the old sand cast Florida brakes, fun to look at. |

Basti, i think they are made to use them and not just to look at. I use them on my yellow S1 and the other set on my S1W. I am quitte happy with them.!!! |

They should work well with 12 pistons pushing against those front rotors! |

Jan I use the Spiegler conversion 16 pistons pushing against the front rotors!! Way too much braking power But to be honest If I had used Buell set I would use it also, but mine is new and I have apart from the Spiegler conversion another one fom Brembo and Nissin. Yes I collect (Message edited by basti on January 15, 2014) |

I would like to clear up a couple of things while I'm having a better day.... I didn't want it to be a bidding war... I got a phone call before I got any messages or emails from members here from an old friend in Nevada, and when he found out I was selling them offered to give me $850 before I could finish my sentence... A little while later, I got the email from Marc that I didn't fully understand (I guess that was My Bad) I asked the folks here what I should do, and called Nick back, and he agreed with the opinion that I should sell them to Marc, since he was the first to express interest because of the classified ad. Now it's a matter time while Marc and I square away the details of the sale and shipping. I appreciate the input of Badwebbers, and am doing everything I can to make this right. I do believe these are a beautiful piece of motorcycle art, and should provide extremely good braking, while looking better than most any set of calipers ever made. Also, for reference I have several other pieces that are for sale: a carbon fibre S1 inner fender, unmolested, A complete dash for I believe an S3, tach, speedo, clock, a couple of different front mounts for the tuber rear shock, and other stuff. I'll try very hard to be extremely clear here and in my emails/messages as to pricing and shipping. Thanks, Neil |
