I have for sale or trade two very nice helmets that combined have not been used more than ten (10) times. I bought these helmets that came as size Medium for my wife to use and needless to say they were not. I bought the black Shoei (size M) full face helmet first and it was too small for her so we bought replacement cheek pads (31mm used in XXL helmets) so to give her some more room and it worked. I still have the original ones as pictured. Next I bought a white pair of open face Arai SZ-m helmets (hers again a size M) that was maybe used twice before I sold the cruiser and bought a Buell. Both helmets come with original boxes and helmet socks/covers and are truly in EXCELLENT shape. I honestly can not find a significant scratch or scrape on either (including the shields) which is consistent with their non use. This is a great opportunity to buy top of the line brand name helmets at a great price! I'm asking $100 plus shipping for each helmet or would trade for Buell XB12S compatible parts of equal value. I will sell them together for $175 (or make me an offer). Remember BOTH helmets come with original boxes and helmet socks--and the Shoei with replacement cheek pads (a $20.00 extra value). Please PM me or email (harrisiv@justice.com) for more details or pictures. The following is a very detailed (I apologize in advance for all the information) rundown of each helmets listed specifications: SHOEI TZ-R: Original Retail- $289.99 Color- Black Size- Medium **includes 35mm XXL Replacement Cheek Pad set (only worn once on the road) which makes the helmet fit very close to a stock LARGE helmet. Dot-218, Snell M2005 AIM+ (Advanced Integrated Matrix Plus) materials Quick change toolless shield replacement system Upper and lower air intake Face shield defogging vent Removable cheek pads and chin strap covers Preset shield opening lever with locking mechanism 3.32 lbs/1510 grams for a size medium ARAI SZ-m: Original Retail- $392.95 Color- Pearl Glacier White Size- Medium Overview For the open face-helmet fan, the SZ/m's advanced, detachable flip-up faceshield gives you the convenience of a flip-up shield without the closed-in feeling that a hinged full-face can give some riders. The SZ's shield also gives you the benefit (and philosophy) of Arais exclusive Brow-Vent ventilation (hint you don't have to punch holes in the helmet shells critical forehead area). You also get the ease and convenience of our Super AdSisŪ tool-less shield changing system with a pre-curved, super-scratch- resistant shield that minimizes distortion and maximizes UV protection. And, like all Arai Helmets, the SZ/m is handmade and has Arai's exclusive one-piece multiple density eps liner for unmatched all-day comfort. The kind that makes you want to just keep riding. Ventilation Arai's quality is so singularly advanced that it reaches the world's highest level of racing, a place so technical, so demanding, that most other helmet makers can't even imagine it, let alone compete in it. We're talking about Formula One auto racing. (Arai holds the unbelievable distinction of being chosen by more than half of the F-1 grid! Including the new 2006 world champion and three of the top-five drivers.) One of the benefits of Arai's F-1 involvement that has come down to motorcyclists is that we learned the best way to ventilate a helmet is to pull the hot stale air out, rather than trying to push new air in. (This led Arai to introduce the world's first diffuser-mounted motorcycle helmet, the RX-7 series, one of our most-copied features ever!) And now we've brought this technology and comfort to an open-face helmet! One-Piece Liner Arai's EPS liner is like no other, comprised of several material densities molded into a single piece. Arai pioneered this technology more than 20 years ago and is still, to our knowledge, the only helmet offering a single-piece hybrid liner and its unique benefit: the direct-fused contact area that each EPS cell shares with it neighboring cells creates a mutual support - as one is crushed under impact, the surrounding cells assist with the energy absorption. (Liner pieces that are simply fitted or glued together cannot rely on such a high-level support bond.) NOTE: Besides the protective aspects of Arai's shell material and single-piece EPS liner construction, there is a major comfort bonus for you, the rider: Arai's Snell-certified liners so soft and comfortable they can actually conform to your head shape within several days of continued use, minimizing "hot spots," allowing the most comfortable fit in the best possible (smallest) size that fits you. (So don't loan your Arai to somebody else, or it just might come back fitting them better than you.) Shell Construction These days there are almost as many "revolutionary" shell-construction materials as there are new helmet brands. Who do you believe? Arai's decades of experience, research, testing, comparison and evaluation have led Arai people to conclude that fiberglass-based construction does the best job of performing a motorcycle-helmet shell's main job - spreading and dissipating impact energy through strength, structural integrity and impact-flexibility. The Ram-III's clc (Complex Laminate Construction) shell utilizes Arai's proprietary aerospace fiberglass technology to achieve a strong, flexible shell in a lightweight package. Ventilation-Exclusive Brow Vent Our exclusive brow vent faceshield brings fresh air in through the shield and directs it into the forehead area. Arai prefers this method rather than punching extra holes in the critical forehead area which reduces both outer shell and inner EPS liner material where it's needed most. |
