Did the stand break? Or the mount? Or the bolts? Bolts have been known to shear...it's rare that the stand itself breaks... |

The stand itself broke. I've not seen one break either. But here we are |

You pay shipping both ways and I'll weld it up just for fun. (with the caveat that I am not a professional welder, though I am confident I can do a good job). Or just ride it over today, we will pull the stand, weld it up tonight, and put it back on. I can recommend a nice cheap local hotel, and you can ride back tomorrow morning.... You are only 148 miles away... |

Sounds like your welding skills are better than mine. I called a dealer in PA (since mine is closed monday)Kickstand is only $56. So I may weld it up tonight and order one tomorrow. |

It's nice mild steel... it should be easy. I have Oxy Acetylene. It is a LOT slower than MIG, but thickness is less of an obstacle, and I don't get the "looks strong but is really weak" problems like I do with MIG. Just don't weld a broken loop tab back on with the bike on it's stand though. You will be welding it back on, seeing the body of the stand going cherry red, then bending as you nootice the bike listing towards you as you lay under it with a lit torch. The previously non obvious risk becomes clear quickly ... DAMHIK. |
