The pants were loose, felt like a 36-38 if I had to guess. With a back protector on, padded shorts and zippered together it wasn't an issue at all. But, these would suit someone a hair bigger in waist. I was able to wear jacket with a chest protector with no problem. I suggest also looking up Spidi sizing to get an idea also.
