I've decided to go with another bike, so I'm going to sell my project S1. '97 S1 18K miles Forcewinder Updated shifter New Grips New headlight New oil and filter New rear brake pads New Cometic rocker box gaskets Bar end mirror Have stock airbox, shifter, and c/f rear fender I've only ridden it a couple miles, runs and rides ok. It's a little rough, looks better in the pics. $2300 I live near Daytona/Orlando. Thanks Rich |

I rode it a couple miles yesterday, then brought it home for a clutch adjustment. I had to pull the lever all the way to the bar to get it to release. Haven't ridden it again to see if that made it better. It was also showing some symptoms of a dirty carb, so I juiced it with some SeaFoam to see if that made a difference, rather than taking the carb apart. Again, I haven't ridden it to see if it's better. It had been sitting a while when I bought it. Other than that, it seems pretty good, starts right up, no loud lifters or anything, shocks/forks not leaking, no smoking, etc. |

Well, sale's on hold for a bit.I took a ride on it today, clutch works better and it's running better, too. Noticed a little seepage from the primary inspection cover, so I decided to put a new gasket in there. Wouldn't you know, one of the bolts was stripped, so I rapped on it with a chisel and got it out of there. Problem is, when I was wailing away on it to get the bolt loose, I cracked the little inspection cover, so I'm dead in the water 'til I get a replacement. Chain adjustment went OK, though. |
