Brought my bike to the dealership with a charging problem. Rotor, Stator, and Regulator all checked out fine for all diagnostic tests. So they decided to replace all 3 components without knowing which was the cause. So now I have the 3 used components. Everything looks good visually. So I'm sure 2 of the 3 are perfectly good. I have no use for them now, so I'd like to get a little money for them. I can take more pictures if you'd like. Feel free to make me an offer...

I don't want to just throw these in the garbage. Feel free to make an offer. I just want to be honest with someone who buys them. I've got low mileage on the bike (11,000). I am quite sure that the problem was with the regulator and/or 77 connection, a common problem with the XBs. I wanted the dealer to replace just the connection, or just the regulator first, and they screwed me over, saying that if I wanted to go that route they would have to treat it as a totally different repair, so I'd have to settle the current diagnostics bill of over $200, then start a new repair, paying for new diagnostics time before and after installing the regulator. So I decided to go their way of replacing the stator and rotor. They did and it didn't fix the problem. So in the end it was the regulator replacement that fixed it all. Anyway, I'm pretty pissed that what could have been an easy and inexpensive regulator swap, ended up costing me $1500! I'm confident that the stator and rotor are fine. They tested fine in all the diagnostic tests and they check out visually. Feel free to make me an offer. |
