Got one of each. These are molded to fit snug over the radar detector. Cover is made from .093" Optix, and baseplate is .440" thick. Cover is sprayed with a rubber coating(except where the display and sensor are). Base can be drilled to fit any mounting system, or tell me what mount you use and I'll drill em for you. Both include thumb screws. Escort includes 90* adapter for audio/visual alert system. These are way better than the RadarBox, no rattling or velcro needed. $50 shipped each.

Water proof is a strong word. If your asking if you can submerge it in water...then no, but I've tested them by leaving them outside with a radar detector inside of it during a heavy rain for 2 days, and the radar was dry. I've also ridden about 250 miles in a downpour, and no water got in. Will it keep your R.D. dry without submerging it...YES. Can you throw it in a pool...Probably Not. You can wait till Froggy gets his and get his opinion. Froggy....Let me know what you think when you get it, should be there by the end of the week. |
