Author Message   Leftcoastal Posted on Sunday, February 13, 2011 - 12:04 pm:        Looking for a set of S2 bars, but I only need the 'ring' parts that clamps to the top of the fork tubes. Anyone have a set that might have been "road tested" (tested against the pavement for hardness properties) or maybe a set of the pre-recall ones that are prone to come apart at the welds? I need them for the project XL that I'm building with my son, that going to have the S2 fork and wheel that I got in the pile of stripped off S2 parts I picked up recently. Let's leave the ones you have for someone that may need some good ones to fix or restore their S2. Plus, I'm looking to take the aforementioned junk bars at a more "fitting to our budget" price. Like I said - I WILL NOT cut up good stuff for this project - at least not items that are becoming hard to get. We do plan to 'hybridize' a post-recall steel swingarm with the original XL unit so that we can run the PM wheels on both ends. The '90's steel swingarms are still pretty plentiful. The bars, not so much. I'll check with the kid (I may need to change that term, he'll be 39 on St. Paddy's day!) to see if he still plans to make up bar mounts with the S2 clamps, and get back to you guys on the bars.
