There's a lot of work needed there . . . but it looks like most the necessary parts are present. Could be a find. I'm no Subject Matter Expert. |

wow, I am really surprised it went for $4,500. Seems high but it gives me hope as to what my 2 are worth now. I have a 1990 RS 1200 and a 1992 RSS 1200. Both complete and each in good shape. |

Well, the last two 5K +/- mileage RS1200s on the fleaBay in the past 6 months went for about $5K to $5500, bargains for condition and low mileage. Keep them until you are over the hill and attending oldtimers racing banquettes, they will make nice displays. |

Motorcycles from the Buell Motor Company are going to be big money collectables in time. And these prices for RS1200 machines will be looked back on with huge "why didn't I buy one when they were so cheap" factor.... the factory only built 443 machines! Buell Show Bike -1- Lucifer's Hammer Race Bike -1- 1987 RR1000 -50- 50 1988 RR1200 -9- 1989 RR1200 -34- 1990 RR1200 -16 59 RR 109 1989 RS1200 -7- 1990 RS1200 -95- early RS 102 1991 RS1200 -67- late RS 100 1992 RS1200 -30- 1993 RS1200 -3- RS 202 1991 RSS1200 -40- Kits -15- 1992 RSS1200 -68- 1993 RSS1200 -6- RSS 129 1993 RR1200 SP -1- 1 Total -443- I think they will be come valuable a collectable for a few reasons. 1 They are rare. 2 They were expensive when new. 3 They were good at what they did. 4 They were well publicized in their day. 5 The Buell "Motorcycle" Company under HD went on to build over 100 thousand bikes, which gives us a large pool of Buell owners who in the future when they get older and come into money will want a Buell again and a number of them will want an early "Motor Company" bike, so I see the demand their as time goes on. The RR will go the highest, and when they go out of the reach of all but the richest collectors others will turn to the RS models. I have got mine already.. a mint original blue 1990 RS1200 is on the water as I type from Canada to New Zealand... finally! My advice is if you want one of the 443 then get and buy in the next 5 years or prepare for the prices to go up fast after that. Just my thoughts... most likely wildly off the mark... but I don't think so Gavin New Zealand |

Hi Gavin well when I look in my garage I just think I have some old Buells nobody wanted Maybe this is the reason why I travel round Europe and buy everything Buell which was build before 95 ?
Perhaps they rise in price but Pssst nobody knows that in Europe except me Best wishes from Germany Basti |

Yup I got number 59. The worldwide financial screw ups stopped a large job I had going just after I commited to buying the bike. Orest, the seller was fantastic and held the bike for me until I could get the money together to finish paying for it. Now it's finally on it's way! Regards Gavin |

>>>>HEY COURT THAT YOUNG MAN STOLE YOUR HELMET!!! That's what I get for loaning it to someone who doesn't have white hair. Seriously . . some stole that helmet off the seat of my XR-1000 one day. I had my favorite HD racing jacket stuffed in it and the helmet had been painted pearl white white very thin orange and gray pin-striping to match my custom XR-1000. I have some pictures of Erik and I from that same era and we both look like kids . . he's aged much more gracefully than I have.
