By all means, more drama...is Rockford on the Buffalo, or is he still driving that POS Firebird? What's Damon gonna ride? And...who gets to wear them pants? More to the point, why does such a cool ride still sport that fugly breadbox??? (Message edited by datsaxman on July 23, 2010) |

Good banter. I'm afraid Jimbo is in the Firebird, but it's 1975 and they don't know any better. Remember even the Fonze is still cool. The pants, the pants...too early to tell yet. Damon rides a trike Goldwing. The breadbox...from the many posts I have read including the X1 Files, the X1 breathes best with it. I happen to like the look as well. But if I were to change things, I would only use the more slender and better looking Trojan Horse trims. Available in plastic and CF. (Message edited by Jon on July 23, 2010) |

that price really sounds like being a bargain. you must have stolen that bike! dude, that is a gorgeous package ... I'd be ready to pay more if I was in the market for a X1. |

Thanks for that, Radiolasais. These Tubers well kept and modded for performance are great bikes. |

I agree that you have a sweet bike and also agree that we do indeed set the market by not panicking when it doesn't sell in two days. The problem for many of us is that we're total fans and would love to own a piece of art like yours, but just can't afford to have MORE motorcycles. Don't let me win the lottery. I'd buy them all. |

Dude...the 'bird is a straight 6, IIRC... And the GW trike hasn't even been invented yet. That's how cool Damon is. And he needs a trike. Since he is five in 1975. Anywho, hold out for a good deal...I am just not looking for an X1. To go with the 1125, the GW sidecar rig, the Guzzi, the K100 brick, the VFR750, and the dirt bike. Kinda full around here. I have five. The X1, the RT, the K75S, and two dirt bikes. No matter. I couldn't be less interested in any bike on the market than the 1125. Have you noticed how many have wanted to get back in to their XB's after buying 1125's? The heart and soul of Buell is air cooled and minimalistic, not Battlestar Galactica. |

Employee has a 02 new to him RC51 nice handles great motor sound pure music. Ergos suck broken wrist clip ons cat in heat seat hieght 1125 is more user friendly |

3. Me, along with about hundreds of others converted from XB, and would never look back. Only thing better than an 1125R is having an 1125CR to go along with it |

"The heart and soul of Buell is air cooled and minimalistic, not Battlestar Galactica." have to agree on the minimalistic and battlestar galactica parts but no way can i agree with you on the air cooled part! what i want is my speed triple's motor in my xb! that sounds like a 1125cr to me (yeah, the pods are kinda ugly but they grow on ya). now if i could just find that rich uncle i seem to have misplaced... and now a word from our sponsors: for sale: 2001 Buell X1 Lightning; White Body Work on Nuclear Blue Tube Frame |

yeah, but back to that minimalist thing, i like 'em naked (plus the dollar thing). side mounted radiators do get the weight forward but sure are hard to hide. have a vfr that i put into a ditch last year and still haven't made up my mind whether to patch up the fairing and put it back on or not. pretty ugly with wires and hoses everywhere. fairing gets in the way of lowering the bars on that one though, so more to the decision. friend has a brand new cr, but he hasn't let me take it apart yet to see if i could fab up something cleaner for scoops |

There are aftermarket scoops, but they actually make the bike run hotter. Not sure why you would change them, they are the best thing ever, they work great as frame sliders as I have tested time after time. You can get a fugly full fairing kit for it if you really desired, but it ruins the look of the bike. |

Fahren, Your post confirms the unfortunate fact that Europe has always had a much higher estimation of Buell than the unwinable Yanks. What a shame! Buell is a great line. It has very little to do with Buell and everything to do with as Americans, we are the cheapest, pickiest people in the world! We expect to pay the bare minimum for everything and everything to be pristine condition. |

"they work great as frame sliders as I have tested time after time" thanks for that info! (i fall down a lot too ) yeah, really want to stay away from full faired, dime a dozen look. there's a motor in there to show off and i'm seldom at speeds high enough for drag to matter.

TITjob, value is set when a buyer and seller come to an agreement. These are not a commodity regulated by an exchange board, there is no "we". Whomever it it was that said it was a bargain and that they would offer you more if they were "in the market", that doesnt even make sense. As for the foreign markets, eBay is worldwid. and the x1 I mentioned earlier just finished it's second listing and again was bid to $1700, and it is getting ready to be the season in Australia and South America, where's all them Buellers? Maybe they don't have the internet. Jon, tell Brad about that so he can get Angelina on it. I'll bet Matt would would even get on board. As for Americans wanting the best machine for the money, we might not be smart in much but it sounds to me like we've got that one figured out. |

No sure what the point is of your post...is it that my price should come down? My X1 will sell for what I want for it along with the other stuff. Or it won't sell. It's that simple. I will not be selling for the ridiculous prices you have seen. Those who are selling for so low are entitled to do so. Brad says that Americans are definintely smart in much. |

I am not trying to make a point to you at all. You want 5g's cool I hope you get it. In your original post you asked if that price was reasonable, I think, and acted like you were up for some playful banter. I offered my opinion and my attempt at playfulness. I am new to buell world, and decided to get onboard when I saw how cheap they were selling for after the shutdown. After watching this board for awhile I noticed guys lamenting at why their machines weren't selling for "bargain" prices 1 or 2 grand over what machines were actually selling for out in the world and being reasured that they were where they needed to be and to just be patient. My only goal was to bring a perspective of actual sales to the board to go along with all of the wishful thinking. |

Sotipnomon, I wasn't put off by your post, I just didn't understand the message. No worries. Yes I know guys are selling their once valued rides for dirt cheap, but I am holding out for better. And yes, you are quit right that I asked for opinions and your opinions and comments are appreciated...but I as I say, I just did not get the message. To Buell! |

If you can afford to, hold on to it until the market improves, or until you decide to keep it forever. |

2,650 for the pants, 350 for the bike and 2 grand for the rest....all in a neat package! You'll be the envy of all your friends! Everyone will want to be you when they see you rumbling down the boulevard...they'll say, "There he is...the man who bought the Great White Buffalo!" |
