Gonna put my bike on the market soon because of student loans kicking my ass Anyways... long story short. Black/Orange 2004 Buell XB12S, 3700 miles, asking $4200. Brand new front and back tire, both oils changed 100 miles ago. K&N air filter. Everything is stock except for seat, mirrors, and brake light from XB Lights. Also have stock mirrors, seat, and saddle bags. Never been down... ever. Always garage kept and never taken on trips. Located in Peoria, IL Haven't listed elsewhere for sale yet, figured I'd give any locals on here a shot at it first. Here are bad pics taken with cell phones...

That seems like a good starting point to me. FYI there has been an 08 with 11k on here for months at $3800. It's August so I wouldn't pass up a reasonable offer if your wanting it to move. |

Hold firm, Walrus. That bike is worth what you want for it. |

Jon n Dawg: it's only worth it if someone is willing to pay it. |

It's worth is controlled by the man who is selling. You seem to be on a mission to get people to sell low. I am on a mission to keep the prices in fair territory. For me and others. |

just for info sake... it seems the price I have it at seems good for my area. Really hard to find XB12's in this area. I got three people interested just from posting here and buellXB Thanks for the thoughts and opinions. |

Sotipnomon and Jon are both right. There are so few Buells and such a small number of people who even know about them, that you can't really establish a "fair market price". There just aren't enough data points. It all depends upon how much you need the money vs. how much you like your bike. |

Supply and demand sets value, period, if you don't believe me look at any economic textbook chapter one. Worth is an intangible number in both the seller and buyer's mind unless they are close enough to reach a mutually beneficial agreement for the exchange of goods, services and or monies. The only mission that I am on, on here, is to let people know what I have seen sell, or not, for what. I don't give a hoot if someone sells their bike or not. That does not effect me. If I had a garage full of buells that I owed money on, or bought when they were an up and coming brand, it would, but I don't, so it doesn't. I bought a really nice x1 for 2k 6 weeks ago. Through a bad series of events I finished getting it home in a rented box truck. After finding out how much it was going to cost to fix the motor I started looking for another one to ride out the season on then put the two together over the winter and have / sell some parts. You would think part of my purchase offers involved sleeping with wives or daughters of the selling party the way I was attacked. It's supply and demand people and right now the supply is high, the demand is low and this makes for low sale prices, or value. If your bike is "worth" more than that keep it, or put it on here so you can tell whomever that it's for sale but there isn't any interest, I don't f.ing care! If someone asks for input or opinion and I give it based on actual transactions I have done or witnessed, don't attack me because of what you "think". Please offer actual information or experience to support or challenge my position, I really do like to be proved wrong because it is so rare. If your input involves what you "want" something to be, you know the old saying: want in one hand, shit in the other and see which one fills up faster. |

my area is having a community 5 mile long sale on saturday... at which time this bike will be advertised on the side of the road. I predict that a buyer will be found then, so if anyone has any interest for this bike, please let me know ASAP. I have one buyer already, but he has to sell his current bike first. So it's still up for grabs. |

Why are low prices bad? In my opinion, which I respect as the minority on this one, low prices will encourage more new people into the Buell family. And make it easier for us to "trade around". Isn't an enthusiast forum to help each other? I bought a fabulously beautiful looking and running X1 by the way. The first in the series of unfortunate events was bad information on how far it would go on a tank of fuel. The rest involved dealers that "don't do Buells". Thanks for enjoying my misfortune though, that's cool. |
