Well I know that there are some Jeep guys in here and I figured I'd see if there was any interest on here first before going to Ebay. Long story short.... I found a nice chunk of my intake missing while installing a Borla header & exhaust. Well I decided buy an Offenhauser intake and Edelbrock Performer 500cfm 4 barrel for my old setup's replacement. So now I'm left with the carb that I had on my Jeep. It's a Weber that I bought used a year and a half ago. I'm 90% sure it is this one. http://www.quadratec.com/products/51312_57_07.htm I looked at my receipt for it and it only had JEEP Weber Performance Carburetor 1976-90 K551-34 written on it. I know it is a Weber 34 carb but couldn't find a K551-34 only the WK551-34, so that's why I say I'm pretty sure it is the one that I posted the link for. I just don't want anyone to say that I'm trying to sell something that it's not. I paid almost $200 for it and have had it on my Jeep for a little over a year now. Definitely an improvement over the stock carb for sure. It did run rich (probably not that 1 cylinder though) but I just read I should have had a fuel regulator on it. lol Now I know.......... and knowing is half the battle. If there's any interest I'll post pics and explain a little more about it. Here's a pic of my old intake. The new stuff should be here tomorrow.   | ||

Hang onto that carb until you have run the Holley for a while...The Holley in my experience absolutely does not like any sort of off camber attitude. The DGES Weber 38/38 is a much better choice for a carb...I ran my XJ at some unbelievable angles with no problems.. You did need a fuel pressure regulator...and you will with the Holley. If you offroad much...get a spare set of floats and bowl gaskets to carry along.(don't forget the orings for the fuel crossover tube). | ||

I picked up an Edelbrock carb, not a Holley but I just bought it until I can save the $$ for a Holley truck Avenger 470. Those carbs can handle some serious angles and not have any trouble. I have had better experiences with Edelbrock carbs over Holley but that is only with street use. I have to see how this new one handles 4 wheeling. I'm also upgrading my ignition system, doing the Nutter bypass and thinking of throwing a mild cam in it for good luck. | ||

my Jeep had the same intake issue, along with a completely worn out and sloppy carb and a leaky rear main. I fixed all of those issues with a Chevy 350.  |
