-------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ i ran across 2 spare keys to a bike i sold last fall. at the time that i sold the bike, i couldn't find these spares. there is a chance that several owners on this forum might share the code, and want the keys. i spent $20 for them. now i want to sell them, as i no longer have any use for them. i don't know the guy that bought my bike. no one else (including you) knows who he is either. if he is on this forum now (as i suggested when we met), he is free to purchase these keys if he would like. i don't understand the paranoia...... |

If you still have the records of the sale, you would still have the buyers contact info. I would at least attempt to email/call the buyer and if he is still around, put them in an envelope and mail them to him. If you couldn't get in touch with him for whatever reason, then attempt to sell them on here. I have bought a few used bikes and they were missing manuals, spare keys, etc, and the seller said they would ship me the stuff if they found them. Needless to say, I never got them. |

i didn't know key codes could be shared ... but now that i think about it, there have been more bikes sold than there could be key code possibilities (0000-9999), so i guess it's not that big of a deal. or maybe i should be more paranoid about everybody else with a set of buell keys starting up my bike and riding it off into the sun set. ... but the odds are in my favor. sorry to rain on your parade. good luck with your sale |

It would be easier to hotwire it than to play guess the keycode. At Buelltoberfest 1 a few years back, some unlucky person left their key home. A few of us tried our keys in hoping that it was a match, but none worked. We ended up rigging the ignition to the kill switch so the bike will turn on when the kill switch is on. I don't recall what he did about the gas cap |

Tubers are real easy to hotwire..Takes about 3 minutes unfortunately. I have also seen a couple of cases where the standard barrel key would turn an ignition switch. the tumblers wear out and then don't care if it's the right key or not. |

I watched a guy at a security show open barrel locks with a bic pen and a business card. |
