Located in Lubbock Texas: 1997 Buell Lightning S1 Streetfighter 1203cc engine 6,200 miles Asking $4,600 firm I'm moving to an apartment across state and will not have anywhere nearby safe to store my bike or shop space to properly maintain her. I'm going to list her for sale since she is simply going to be stored at my parents house for a very long time. I have no problem holding on to her if she doesn't sell for asking price so no lower offers will be considered at all. Bike is well maintained with all recalls and maintenance performed by Legacy HD. Bike is simple, clean and stupid fast...only problem with the bike is the V&H muffler. First the bracket broke and was replaced by a header wrap/worm clamps combo and secondly the V&H logo plate vibrated off, leaving two small pin holes in the side of the muffler that make a popping sound on deceleration (which I love because it is loud, but new owner might not) Works Shock Vance and Hines carbon fiber muffler Header wrap on pipes Aprilia mirrors rear end delete liscense plate relocation K&N filter Adjustable brake lever smaller turn signals New Michelin Pilot sport tires Only serious and responsible buyers with some mechanical knowledge will be considered. I will not sell to a kid that's going to wheelie a priceless collectors bike into the back of a van (Message edited by skippytheloon on December 16, 2009) (Message edited by skippytheloon on December 16, 2009) (Message edited by skippytheloon on December 17, 2009) (Message edited by skippytheloon on December 21, 2009) |

"" asking price so no lower offers will be considered at all. "" I'll take it! I assume its free to a good home since there is no asking price.

Doh (smacks head). Sorry, the bike is not free to a good home...am thinking of using the money for investments instead of it sitting in my parents garage doing nothing. Post updated with asking price. Sorry about that. Kyle |

Nice bike and I suspect someone will pay the full price. IMHO, the trick with selling a Buell Tuber is to put it in a visible spot so potential buyer(s) can see it. I personally believe a bike like this or any other nice and clean Tuber sells itself... |

Beachbuell: "Looks like it'll be sitting at mom's house for a long while." Lol, that's fine. It'll be listed off and on for another couple of years till I buy a house w/garage or it sells. No biggie either way. You are just upset because you thought you were getting the bike for free and I'm sorry for that. |

He was just joking. The reason he said it'll be there for awhile is because tubers period aren't selling for more than $4,000. |

It may be higher than "the book"...but remember the book also includes all the bikes that are being sold for choppers. A bare frame with a VIN and title counts as "a bike" in the book, and that's how they poll the numbers. S1's - just like about any of the tubers - are worth every bit of a "high" price. I probably overpaid (according to folks on this list, anyway) for my S1W a couple years ago, but I really don't care. I love that bike, it had 1,100 miles on it when I got it (in 2006), and was what I'd always wanted. Absolutely no regrets, worth every penny. Somebody will get this bike, and love it. For a clean, low mile S1...I don't think the price is out of line at all. |

well, over 2 years ago I spent $6000 for my S1WL with 3900 miles. it was before the recession, for a very nice low mileage bike, a lot of custom parts. the guy put it on ebay, he was a local so I asked to go and check the bike. he told me the reserve price was $6000, I agreed to pay him that money, but he was new on ebay so he didn't know how to end the auction earlier and he let it go for another 2 days. well, that highest offer on that bike was $5900, meaning that not just me was willing to pay that money for that bike. it all depends on moment and if you find 2 people that really wanna own your bike, the price will easily reach the amount you are asking, or more. the problem is also that right now the economy sucks and a lot of people are literally giving away for a bag of chips their own bikes and that destroyed the market. anyway, if for you that bike worths that money, stay firm on your price and good luck on the sale... |

I am in the market for a 1200RS and an S1W, the latter one in all white or all black . . . with the rear hugger . . . and I wouldn't blink paying over list for the "right" bike. Any clean, stock Tuber WILL appreciate in value. The problem is finding one. |
