I have my hp2 listed on ebay as Ive been trying to sell for a while, so I can get an uly. I'm open to trades but really looking for an 06 or 07 Ulysses. Mostly a 06 for cost reasons. I'll post what I basically have on ebay and a pic. Here we have one lovely HP2 enduro, turned megamoto, but better in both ways I think! It now has 14,342 very loved miles, both by the previous owner (my architect neighbor), and myself. I got it with 12,256 miles and enjoyed it immensely. I have installed a new rear tire, changed the oil, and had the fork seals replaced. Other than that, my neighbor did all the modifications and added all the extras, except the luggage, which is NOT INCLUDED in this sale. I’m not willing to sell the luggage unless I sell the bike so it will be sold after auction. If you purchase bike you can buy the luggage for an additional $1000.00. The Marsee tank bag, which has a great mounting system and is very handy, IS included. .
Here are the goods! and a few I’m sure I’m missing.... The front forks have been replaced with WP forks and a custom triple clam. WP forks are much better than the originals with rebound and dampening in each fork. They are also more common and easily customized. The fork seals were replaced within the last 1000 miles. If you want more info on this modification you can talk to the guy who built it, just email or call me.
There is a billet Brembo front brake caliper that is close to $750 new. It stops very well, and looks sooo nice. There is a Megamoto oil cooler which keeps the oil temp middle of the scale, at just about all times, even on 100 degree days. It can easily be taken off for off roading if you want to go that way. The blinkers are absent but could easily be replaced if your into that sort of thing, or if they are required. There are spots to put them for front and back. The back will need a factory plug to add them but that’s as simple as a call to dealership. It has a several tourtech aluminum protection parts for the brake reservoir, clutch reservoir, fuel injectors. It has a great windscreen that breaks the wind off your chest but no buffeting. It works well for long distance.
It has a custom Renazco seat, in black suede. It makes for a much more comfortable ride, and it takes a good bit of time waiting, and money to get one The original air shock is gone and replaced with an Ohlin’s rear shock. It’s much more adjustable, and superior to the original air shock in so many ways. It has Megamoto wheels and Conti Attack tires. The rear has only about 500 miles or so on it. The front tire needs replaced. It has pro taper bars and adjustable clutch and brake levers that match the bike color, very nice to the touch as well. Maintenance has been meticulous. The lifetime differential oil (which shouldn’t be called lifetime) has been changed once, and the engine every 3k with BMW synthetic. Last oil change was at 13,500 miles. This bike has been stored inside of a living room (yes, inside living room) or garage all its life and only seen rain a few times. The plastic front fender has been shortened and there are a few scuffs here and there on the plastic, but to me it’s a show piece of a motorcycle. If you want to go dirt and want the full size fender, plastic is cheap. Also, the rear license plate holder and fender section are gone. Much, much cleaner looks. I bought this bike from my neighbor last year and have enjoyed it immensely. I just need a cheaper steed! I have the original title in hand and have not signed it as new owner, so it is officially a one owner bike, and whomever purchases this bike will be the official second owner. Mileage on title when it was signed says 12,256, and purchase price of $12,000.00. The cost was not accurate since I actually paid 15.3k (my loss). I’m only sharing this so there are no surprises. If need be, he could apply for a new title and sign over directly to you. It has a full Remus system and sounds wonderful. It has the Marsee tank bag which has a magnetic mount around the tank filler. Very nice tank bag. Never been offroad. Spare parts included are, original triple clamp for forks, oil filter wrench, manual on CD and hard pipe oil line to remove megamoto oil cooler. Here is the bad: The horn is not very loud (over tightened I think). The front tire needs replaced. Warranty has expired. If you want to see or have questions, feel free to call Eric 303-522-6770 and I can answer, or put you in touch with my neighbor (also named Erik), who says I’m a knucklehead for selling, but knows the bike better than anyone. I’d be happy to send you a link with lots of pictures, or take new ones for you if you need. If you want this to be an enduro again, all it needs is a little swapping of parts. The forks would only need new springs for off road, as opposed to the stiffer/shorter ones for street that it currently has. Since these forks are far superior to the original ones, and parts are readily available, you can customize easily, or get a second set of forks for a true dual purpose bike!!. KTM forks are bolt on (these are KTM forks) so an entire KTM front end would be easily adaptable. The existing brake caliper (because its radial mount) may have clearance issues with spoked wheels. There’s no reason to believe it will have clearance issues, but again, no surprises. http://todowell.smugmug.com/Motorcycles/HP2/748946 4_knxoX#626944581_xec5z |

Thank you for renewing my lust for a R1200GS Adventure with ABS and computer. I don't exactly have $20k lying around. (Would those blue wheels bolt right up?) |

sold it...now i cant decide between a uly or a 950 adventure. i need less tickets and want to do some real off road so the adv seems wise, but the uly appeal is strong...kinda like the dark side! |
