Dibs with one small caveat. This looks like the one for carb models. Please give me just a couple of hours to to get some input as how difficult is it to make it work for my X1.
Folks, would you please tell me if I could make it work for my X1 by somehow fitting the IAT in the elbow?
I will drop or confirm my bid as soon as I get some input.
If this is too much to ask or out of norm, I will take no offense and you can ignore my dib. But I really do want one of these really bad so I hope I can it make it work.
Thanks

By the way, I have already rerouted my breathers to a catch can so that should not be an issue.
COuld I use the breather input for the IAT by making it larger? I assume the breather input is to the filter since I see no place on the elbow. Am I right?

There were a couple of people who had problems with the force and their IAT sensors. The intake would get heat soaked after a ride and would cause problems when stopping for a short time. I just relocated my IAT sensor to the front next to the diagnostic plug. No problems. Just bolt the intake up and relocate your IAT and you should be fine.

Thanks Fasted. Unfortunately I've never seen a Forcewinder on a bike, only pictures.
Based on the pictures, looks like the pipe piece is for routing the breather from the heads to the FW, specifically to the back/side of the filter. I was wondering about using he "hole" for the breather for the IAT. Tdman had a great point and apparently a solution. I'll do a search to make sure I can make it work. In the meantime I hope I am not holding others from putting a dib. Appreciate input/results from folks who have already done what I am trying to do.

Kalai - I think PKforbes had writen about the heat soak of the intake and IAT. You might want to give him a shout out. I am running an S&S intake that sits super close to the rear header pipe. I didn't even try to modify it for the IAT. I just rerouted the IAT. I have about 1k miles and no problems what soever. If you are looking at getting the intake get it! It's a great price you won't find again.

I would suggest not trying too hard to mount the IAT sensor in the forcewinder. I've had issues with mine warming up because it sits so close to the header. It's fine while the bike is moving and has airflow around the sensor, but if I have the engine warmed up, then shut the bike off for just a few minutes, then come back and start it again (think poker run) then the sensor has warmed up due to heat off the header and it wants to idle like crap.

The only solution I've found so far is to unplug the sensor and put it back in once youve had the bike moving for a couple minutes and airflow has cooled the sensor back down to outside air temp. I got my headers ceramic coated so will soon know if that makes a difference or not.

Sorry for the hijack Fasted, not trying to drive away business. I think the forcewinder is the best looking intake available.

I haven't had any problems, either. From another thread it looked like taking a carb Forcewinder and slightly modifying it wouldn't be a big deal. Let me know if you want some pics to get the location of the sensor.

Easy-rider thanks. I may take you up on your offer once I get my hands on the piece. I'm actually out of town visiting my brother in San Jose for another 10 days. Hopefully I'll have it when I get back to New Jersey depending on how quickly Eddie can get it packaged and shipped. Jersey weather is just beginning to get nice enough for some serious riding.

Tonight I rode about 30 miles to get the bike completely warmed up, then parked it and plugged in ECMspy quickly to see what the IAT reading would do. It climbed from 84* to 93* but that's it, and it wasn't enough to affect the way the bike restarted.

So there should be nothing to worry about for pretty much everyone out there. I have no idea why my 2000 model always had problems with the forcewinder.

Best of luck with your sale and sorry for the hijack.
