Charlie: Perhaps a good call. To avoid any "he said, she said" with all the behind the scenes e-mails flying about, here is the e-mail I sent you. Court
quote: Charlie: Absolutely NO problem with me. My only concern would be if you now sold it to one of the lower bidders. That would be unethical and dishonest You were perfectly clear that you were seeking bids, as opposed to "offering for a price" when you said this. "IF NO ONE OUT BIDS YOU IT WILL BE YOURS BY TOMORROW" The only person I think has bordered on unethical was the fellow who, when it was "for sale, not an auction" attempted to drive the price up. That was, at the very least, dishonest. I did have concerns when you started selling this stuff as I didn't know by your screen name who you were. As you are aware there have been a couple incidents where former Buell employees sold things that were "give away" stuff they acquired while working at Buell. Harley-Davidson has fired folks for selling left over event shirts. After I checked with the HR folks at Buell and got your response I had zero problem. Like I said the shirts that the marketing folks sent me on the way to Daytona were small so I just gave them to my wife. I figured this was a great chance to get a shirt. All things considered, as I sit here looking at the new, still in plastic "S2: "1,000 Buel Made" t-shirts . . . The last thing I (and likely you) need is another Buell shirt. I just got a Geico Racing shirt and hat from Geico last week and a racing jersey from Richie Morris Racing. Anyway . . . Frankly, I think, and it's just my opinion, the "right" thing to do would be to sell the shirt to the first guy who met your $75 price. I truly think that what you meant to say, prior to the "accidental auction" was "first person at or above $75) Best regards and I hope you're enjoying your retirement. Court P.S. - I am paypaling the funds for the Hannover shirt. I'm going to send it to one of the American Servicemen in serving in the military.
I am seriously looking at this closet full of S1WL White Lightning collared camp shirts.

If he goes to eBay, do you guys realize how many others in the world will see it?? And really jack the price up. There is nothing wrong with BadWeB bidding! It keeps it with a more select group. The man said, best offer over 75 bucks. That means Old Biker gets to decide when he feels all the offers on the table, be it a week or a month. I've bought a few $200+ items from him at a GREAT price! So I have nothing but love for man. I say put up another thread, just make sure it says something about bidding and sell your stuff Charlie! Just my thoughts! |

Ya gotta love e-Bay . . . I put a powered mixer on the other day . . . got a great price and the guy ended up buying a pair of monitor cabinets to boot . . . I did have a funny one yesterday on 2 cassette decks and a CD deck . . . guy "INSISTED" he would not pay $15 for shipping and demanded to pick them up. Cool . . he's driving from Poughkepsie to Staten Island and I'm eager to see how he feels about $4.5 for the Tri-boro, $4.5 for the battery tunnel and then $13.00 for the bridge . . . perhaps he was moving here anyway. Auctions bring out the best . . . I tossed up an SKB rack mount case yesterday and a "had to have it" guy is coming in 45 minutes . . cash in hand . . a dentist who has to have one tomorrow to mount equipment in. Interesting dynamics |

Buellinator I owe you a direct apology concerning this matter. I would NEVER knowingly come across as unethical or dishonest to obtain something. I should have not read the original post so literally and respected your offer. My intentions were not meant in a bad way but I see now where I went wrong. I can only live and learn from this. |

Dhdjr, no apology is necessary. You did absolutely nothing wrong. I'm probably the one who should apologize for getting so pissy about the whole subject of bidding for stuff on Badweb. It's all in the past. Let's carry on and enjoy ourselves again. Hey Court! You selling some of those shirts? |

Alright, what the hell, I'll jump off the cliff too. Court, in the event that you actually ARE willing to part with some of your cool old Buell shirts, I'd love to have an S1 shirt and the S2 "1000th Buell Made" shirt ('cause I have an S1 and an S2, not necessarily in that order ) both in XL. If you're in need of a Central Texas Buell shirt, let me know... HBJ |

Hahahahaha . . my wife would love you guys! She, a couple years ago, bought a bunch of those vacuum bags and sealed up hundreds of shirts. This is some of the S2 and S1WL stuff. I'm not sure what I'll do with it but it's going to have to go soon . . . Harley-Davidson called last year about buying all my files, "things" and correspondence but I frankly don't ever expect to hear from them. My kids have already warned me . . . either clean it up or it goes to the Goodwill. I have visions of 400 homeless folks in Brooklyn clad in Buell gear!

If you guys want to out smart Court just give his wife a call and tell her to name her price. I just watched the Star Trek auction on the History Channel this weekend. It is amazing what those items went for. It reminded me of Court and his "stash". I still have my first demo shirt from Fredrick HD/Buell. It is a M2 Cyclone shirt that says "Get Blown Away". I also have the first shirt I bought, which is still my favorite. I have seen Buell employees wearing the same shirt in some of the recent Buell vids. |

My favorite: http://cgi.ebay.com/Harley-Davidson-Buell-3X-Motor cycle-Mechanic-Shirt_W0QQitemZ220410789176QQcmdZVi ewItemQQptZUS_CSA_MC_Shirts?hash=item335181bd38&_t rksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C66%3A2%7C 65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1% 7C294%3A50 And if that was an XL I would be all over it. Mine is getting a little worn. |

Hahahaha . . . you've seen nothing yet. Cases of unopened stuff I'd bought years ago . . . I'm still ticked that when they sent the race shirt, like the one being sold in this thread, that they sent a small. Don't get me wrong . . my wife loves it . . . and she swears that Erik sent it for her, not me . . . her argument is persuasive. Anyway . . . I'm keeping my eyes out. I'd pay $150 for one in a heartbeat. The neat one in the above pile is the Buell Artist Edition shirt . . . those were commissioned and none sold to the public that I am aware of. IT's the blue with the white v-neck looking thing. |
