Old-biker3, if you want a certain price, try just asking for it instead of starting a bidding war. You'll probably get it and people won't feel like they're on fleabay. We're all Buell enthusiasts here and enjoy the brand and the bikes. Why not treat each other that way? We don't tend to nickel and dime each other as I didn't when I spent $79 on posters from you earlier today. Just state your price and the buyer can decide if he wants it. BTW using caps lock is equivalent to yelling and I'm sure that's not what you were trying to do were you?  | ||

This is stupid. It's not the price that's stupid, it's this whole business of bidding. I'm personally disgusted by this behaviour from our little group and am disappointed that we now have a new version of ebay in our midst. I'm sorry that I ever got involved with the individual doing the selling and will not purchase anything from him again as a matter of principle and would hope that others follow suit. I don't see anyone else resorting to this type of selling method on this forum and am wondering why we are pandering to this individual. Court, the seller has committed to selling the items to Dhdjr for $90 plus shipping. Please don't entice him to break his commitment by almost doubling the offer. A deal is a deal. And if our word to fellow Badwebbers means nothing, what's the point of this part of the forum? That is of course, assuming you were serious and not faking everybody out.... | ||

No, I am not kidding at all. I want the shirt. Buell sent me two but in the confusion I accidently got SMALL . . . that ain't working. There is nothing crazy about this. He posted the item and when the question over taking a higher price emerged he CLARIFIED himself quite precisely, responding to a "bid" at 3:33PM by stating . . "IF NO ONE OUT BIDS YOU IT WILL BE YOURS BY TOMORROW". I didn't make the rules; Charlie said he'd sell to the highest price received by today. He was perfectly honest and open. I was perfectly honest and open. I'm sure he is an honest and trustworthy person and can be counted on to be a man of his word. Am I still high? Look . . .if you want the shirt, bidding is still open until sometime today, presumably 3:33pm. Court P.S. - I admit the initial terms were unclear but Charlie could not have been clearer in his explanation above. If you can find one single problem with any of this the best thing to do is to simply not bid. Charlie's been a Buell employee for years and I want to see him do well as he sells his Buell paraphernalia. Of course, as a guy with cases of unopened Buell stuff . . . of course, I do.  Charlie is an honest guy, will do what he PROMISED to do. It's simple. | ||

I'm not questioning Charlie's honesty or integrity or even the price. I'm not whining because I couldn't buy for $75. That was the price I was willing to pay. No more. It's his method that I object to. I just feel that if you want to sell something here, it shouldn't be reduced to an auction. State your price and let people decide if they feel it's worth it. As Badwebbers I thought we were above all this. If he's the man that you say he is, he'll sell the stuff to Dhdjr for the agreed upon price. | ||

I'm fairly new to this forum & especially to this section of it. Most of the items appear have a set price & are sold to the first person that responds. This one is different and thats why my first post stated "but if the person that dibs first has rights I will withdraw." I don't want ANY merchandise at the cost of causing problems and or ill feelings to others. Sorry for my part in this & I'll know better next time. | ||

You caused no problems. The only problem was the format of the sale. It wasn't supposed to get so heated but it did. I hope Charlie keeps his word and sells you the stuff. | ||

I know that Charlie is pulling the items. It's his stuff to do with as he pleases and I understand given the circumstances. But Court, (and I really do respect you and enjoy all your contributions to this forum immensely) I'm surprised that you failed to acknowledge the fact that he committed to selling for $90 at 7:09 pm last night 2 1/2 hours before you upped the ante by bidding $150. It was a done deal. Everyone involved was happy with the outcome. Why get involved at that point? <sigh> What's done is done. Whoever ends up with the items in question will have an interesting story to tell about them. Charlie, sorry this went the way it did. I'm sure it was never meant to get out of hand like this. |
