Bartimus; seems to me that there would be quite a few desirable parts on even a "totaled" S2. Any chance you can buy it for pennies and either salvage it or at least get the usable parts back in circulation?? Henrik |

I am looking into buying it back, and restoring it to it's previous beauty. But I am trying to keep my options open. My "baby" has 148,000 miles on it, and it looks like the insurance will want in access of $2000 because of the PM wheels. I am still trying to work all my options, I can't believe how much the plastic costs. Fairing: $847, tail section: $1050. This is for Painted parts, not primered. I'm sue I can probably find parts here on the Badweb, I've got some parts coming in from some of you, (bless your hearts) I may do both, buy the bike back and slowly restore it, AND buy another BUELL to get me back into the wind. My wide-glide just isn't doing it for me. Anyone wanna trade an S1 or S2 for an '85 wide glide? |

Well now Bart, how'zabout ya tell us all just a little bit more about that Wide Glide? An Ferris, izzit just me or is anybody else having trouble loading that SacBORG site? My computer gets to about the third frame before it calls it quits and refuses to ingest the rest of the pics. Repeated attempts and I still don't know what "Thong" looks like. Gotta concur with Joplin though, those ARE mighty fine lookin Levis in the third frame.... L |

I do like the bike...can you provide more details, you know, are you the orginal owner, any accident/tip over history, maintenance history, blah, blah, blah. I live in VA and I need a Buell so my Harley friends will let me play with them. Thanks, Jim |

Bart, 1998 S1 Lightning, Multon Orange Body & Nucular blue frame and matching wheels, Wind screen and belt guard replaced with Carbon Fiber, still have original plastic though. Motor basically stock, force winder intake, carb has been rebuilt at 10,000 miles, bike has 12,000 +/- a few. New rubber front and rear (Metzlers). Currently all re-calls are being performed on bike at Harley, supposed to have it back before riding season though. I am asking 6000, but I am open to all offers and TRADES. (these items will be extra) I have two helmets and alot of riding gear mostly Buell shirts, black riding Buell leather jacket, chaps, all x-large, also X1 riding gloves, and some after market breathables, extra solo seat. I can mail Pics if you think ya might be intrested! Paul F

For a friend of mine... 1992 Yamaha TDM 850 Parallel Twin, 2,999 miles, great condition, strong motor, fresh service by dealer, $3,500US. Larger digital photos available. jeff@potter-architects.com or 903-235-5000 in Texas ask for "Jeff". As you can see on the left side tail and muffler, the big TDM has seen some off-road riding, minor cosmetic scratching, mere superficial scars of battle for a TDM. The venerable TDM is capable of taking you around the world or anywhere that a fire trail or logging road might access. It is equally at home on the pavement. This particular TDM has lived 99.9% of it's traveling life on pavement. Other than that, it has been garage stored and meticulously pampered. The bike is absolutely rock solid and near showroom clean, which unfortunately is more than I can say for the driveway. The spots on the driveway are NOT a product of the bike. Don't hesitate to make an offer on this machine if you are interested in a big dual sport. Thanks, Blake (for Jeff) edited by blake on December 23, 2003 |
