Have a broken exhaust stud I need to get out of my XB9R. Anyone have a tool I could borrow/rent for a few days?

Try posting over in the PayItForward thread, whereever that thread is hiding. Or try calling some of the folks on the Rider's Assistance Network for your region.

One of those tools is on my "someday" list.

The best trick I know of is to weld a nut to the stud. I heats the head, burns out any loctite that may be there and gives a good hex to turn on.

I would use an exhaust flange or try borrowing one for the dealer(if you know those guys).

I welded one up from an exhaust flange. It sort of worked, but I should have bought the Jims tool.

You need more then the flange, you need something that will center and hold the flange on the exhaust port. And the flanges have lots of play around the studs, so just bolting up one side does not line you up.

The Jims tool has solved all of these problems already.
