Trying to make some room in the garage, going to sell my 1998 KTM 250 EXC two-stroke woods bike. Starts 2nd-3rd kick, has FMF Gnarly pipe with Q silencer (fresh repack), Michelin S12s, Terrain Tamer suspension (http://www.brucessuspension.com/), etc. Comes with all manuals including service manual, fork and shock manuals, parts manuals for bike/engine, 1998 2-stroke brochure, and a nice KTM folder/case for storing manuals. Bike is well worn and shows its age, but the motor is very strong. You will be hard pressed to find a better woods bike for $1500. I bought this bike in November of '06 with the intention of getting back into dirt riding, but have only gone riding 4-5 times since then. My weekends always seem to be filled up with other stuff and even when I do get a chance to spend the day riding I always end up spending it on the Buell instead. The bike has impressed me every time I've ridden it, but with no time to ride it's a waste for me to keep the bike. More pictures available here: http://s167.photobucket.com/albums/u149/MLuddyJr/K TM/ Ad on craigslist: http://raleigh.craigslist.org/mcy/478595687.html The bike is currently located in Fuquay-Varina, NC. |

Did that start out street legal, and if so do you still have the street parts for it? If so I'll let someone near me know about it. |

As far as I know the bike was never street legal. They did come with a headlight/tail light from the factory, but that was for woods riding. |

How big is the gas tank?-does it have a skid plate? will it "putt" or is it explosive (power wise) thx---ie-good slow speed torque for crawling around in tight stuff? 5 speed or 6 speed? |

Not sure about the size of the gas tank, I can look it up when I get home. There is no skid plate, just the exhaust and the frame. You can get away with lugging the motor, much more so than on a 2-stroke MX bike, but it is still a 2-stroke and prefers to be kept spinning a bit. I actually can't remember if it has 5 or 6 gears, I'll have to look that up too. It is considered a wide-ratio trans though. |

Ok, seriously, I'm willing to go down to trade-in value now. Anyone interested at all? I *NEVER* want to hear about poor resale on Buells again. |
