Nice bike with nice mods, but as I wrote in my other post, if you look at the prices most other XB9 were sold here, you'll quickly have to drop the price or advertise it someplace else. I don't know what is wrong: the books values are probably too high but I also think the prices in this particular forum are just too low... Or maybe that's just the number of buyers that is too low. Anyways, there's always a bit of luck involved in a sale for both buyer and seller so I wish you best of luck! |

what is the point in leaving a post like this? you should stay out of peoples threads and let them list whatever they want for whatever price. no reason to post if you are not interested in buying. |

Well I tried to be constructive, opening another post were you could also have posted that is not about selling a bike but to discuss that issue: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show .cgi?tpc=21&post=911299#POST911299 I don't mean to start a flame war since that thread (and I hoped my post) has nothing polemic about it (unlike some I won't mention). But I certainly hope to turn your reactions into something constructive! I was very disappointed when I realized on my own that my price estimate was all wrong. This is why I'd like to help build a tool that will provide facts about selling price without judging an ad in particular. I'm sorry if I offended that particular sender or any other BadWeb Rider. Anyways any contribution to a "For Sale" ad bumps it so it's never totally a bad thing. By the way, here is another example of what I was just writing about: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show .cgi?tpc=21&post=912959#POST912959 |

But it all boils down to what the seller wants and what the seller will get. Your point is well taken. I too think the asking price is too high. However, it's not my place to tell some one what they should ask for their bike. They'll learn sooner or later. I understand you're trying to help the guy out, but sometimes it comes off wrong. |

Ok, I also though that what I wrote about "putting that ad out of the BadWeb" can also be hugely misinterpreted. What I meant is that local ads like Craigslist put much less Buell "in competition", in short they give you a chance to have the only listed Buell and list it at the books price. Maybe it's ok though to have a different price (meaning lower) for BadWeb members?!? Sorry again anyways... |
