Yes, it still needs plating/bracing for extreme use usually done at the same time wheelie bar mounts are added if being used for racing but the critical alignment part has already been done. |

Several guys on the Sportster forum have done the same type of mod to extend their swingarm, and haven't had a problem with not having it braced. I don't know what the stress difference from bike to bike would be, but the XL is a bit heavier. |

swingarm walls are atleast twice as thick on a sportster swingarm.... i'll measure tomorrow when i get to the shop to get an exact difference... |
