http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/mcy/328580501.h tml I'm offering to travel a couple hundred miles to sell it... I don't have a truck so I would be riding the bike and asking you to take me to an airport/train station/avis station. |

I plan to edit the Craigslist post to bring the price down to $5800. I'll do it next week in case any Bad Weather Biker is interested in between... |

Considering the other offers seen here lately, I'm adjusting the price to $5,500. All accessories included for Bad Weather bikers. |

$5500 is that the best price you can do? |

Well the alternative is to ship it back to France with me. Even with the shipping costs and administrative hassle I would still do a profit since they are much more appreciated overseas. When I got it last year for $6500 I thought I had a great deal (there were still a couple of months warranty left and it came from a "dealer" which I soon learned just meant I spent much more in taxes). The price before taxes was $5,800 and out of curiosity I asked for a trade-in price and was told $5000. I asked again this year and was told $4000 (that place already has a white 2002 for sale so maybe they lowered the price a little). Now my plan is to "get rid" of the 2 motorcycles I have now that I bought used last year, to get a single one new now that I'll have less trouble shipping back to France. I found the Guzzi Breva kind of merges the pluses of both my Triumph Tiger (long range, comfy 2 up ride) and my Buell (twin, big grin at legal speeds). I might sell the Tiger sooner than expected, and at least sooner than the Buell. Which then might lead me to sell the Buell for much less than I initially thought. Last but not least I listed 4 XB9 bikes sold (sellers might not have published the final price though) from this very same forum and found: An 03 S with 5Kmi sold for less than $5K An 03 R with 6Kmi sold for less than $5.2K An 05Sx with few mi sold for less than $5.7K An 06 R with 1Kmi sold while initial price was $7k. So I feel the price isn't that bad, but since it might take a while to sell, I would invest a bit in the bike with lower foot pegs (from the S model but then they won't have the rubber coating). Maybe the Buell Saddle bags(considering this might be my only bike for a while), buy the missing seat cowl and have the rear seat re-upholstered. If I use it some more miles I'll get the pipe fixed too. Also a Muller softer clutch might provide a good return on investment, if only I hadn't noticed the "XB soft clutch" sold by freespirits.it in europe for much less I would already have installed it... I guess wanting to be transparent I became unclear... This is not my last price, but I'm waiting for other events to trigger the next price drop. You can try to make an offer now if you don't want to wait for the drop, I will take the time to consider it. |

Keeping the price @ $5,500 for now but I'm throwing in more stuff on the bike: Just bought a Muller clutch and ordered the Lightning lower pegs. I will look for the Rear seat and it's seat cowl soon. Also considering a pipe header to get rid of that dent but I don't have the tools to mount it... |

Lightning pegs installed. I'll work on the muller clutch this week-end. Still trying for $5,500 and considering any offers... |

Just tell me if you want more pictures or higher resolution ones. The bike looks good from a distance but up close there are some scratches here and there. (I had the fork oil changed and I'm wondering whether the mechanic didn't scratch the front fender while doing it). I know it disappointed me when I first looked at it last year so I'm telling you now. Of course when you ride it none of this matters... Like I mentioned in my Craigslist ad, it lacks the rear seat cover and the rear seat has a small scratch. A seat can be found for around $50 here https://www.ironmachine.com/product_info.php?produ cts_id=260 and the cover is $40. If these matter to you I planned to order them anyways but after I got the tail bag none of these showed so I didn't bother. I just installed the Muller clutch, now it's lighter than my Triumph Tiger's ! |
