Where did you hear this, Blake? Ive LEGALLY sold multiple firearms on the internet more times than I care to mention.
Might want to check out a few web sites such as falfiles.com, ar15.com and ak-47.net just to name a few. In fact there is a legality section on falfiles.com that Im sure with a little search function action could give you actual BATF regulation on this issue.

There are auction sites dedicated to the sale of firearms. There is nothing illegal about it. It is something different if the administrator of a web site does not wish to have them sold on their site, how ever it is not illegal.
