I'm looking for the fuel tank accents you can put on 99'02 X1 Lightnings. Similar to the ones you see in the pic below. I have seen some different kinds but the ones I am looking for are the fiber glass kind. So please, if anybody has any or knows where to get em, let me know. Thank You. |

The guy who was making them was will_to_win on ebay...he sold his race stripe and quit making all the accents. He lives in central Pa. I'm not sure if he has anymore or not. |

I guess you've never priced what a plastic injection mold runs NOT a big return on investment for that part. Has anyone bothered to check if they are still available from Buell? |

you can make a mold for about $25 if you have to buy every thing to make it with. There is not a lot to it. wax the plug spray it with release agent spray with gel coat lay a few layers of fiber on top of that let it dry pop the plug out wax the mold spray with release agent spray with gel coat lay fiber glass let dry pop the part out finish the edges sand paint put it on the bike. or you can make a latex mold for a bought 50 but it will not be as good a mold for this type of part. |

The German company Hillbilly Motors (no, it's not a joke) also sell these. Their website is http://www.hillbilly-motors.com/portal.html Can't remember the price, but see if they can compare to American Sportbike. They also have an English-written alternative for all the weird text... |
