dealers can get em -- they're pretty inexpensive - likely your best bet! |

When you say "Chrome decal" in the Buell you'd be referring to a model year 1999 or 2000. The Chrome tank decals came on 4 models. All are readily available from Buell. Last week there was a badweboligist who ordered tank stickers for a 10 year old Buell and had them in less than a week. If you need help with a specific model or part number . . . well, gosh . . drop me a NOTE and BE SURE (I'm in school now and anything without Buell and a topic in the subject gets deleted by CubMail rules) to put something like Buell - tank stickers - 1999 M-2 Cyclone in the subject. The moment you give me a year and model I'll get the number to you . . . . I'm seeing a 2002 X-1 in your profile and, of course, the X-1 did not have a CHROME tank decal. It DID have a silver one. If you give me a model and year it'll make life, here in the world of 94 books, much easier.

ouch, sorry. I guess your expertise is needed. whatever year you think. i just wanted to put them on a carbon fiber tank cover. mine is currently black with a purple frame. if you dont want to go through it. I'll go up to guys at the show and ask. 94 books? lots of info there. you wouldnt happen to have a service manual for my 02 x1? if so let me know how much you want for it. Thanks much |

Wiley -- drop Courtley a note and tell him 2000 M2 tank stickers -- they are chromey lookin -- svc manual is also available through dealers (and sponsors here on the board) -- Court is one of those fellas that accumulates stuff, but don't sell it -- it's an affliction ;-} |

>>>accumulates stuff, but don't sell it Absolutely accurate. I have a real problem with selling anything given to me free, particularly when the intent was not to make me a dealer. I do HOWEVER send LOADS of FREE stuff. . . my modus operandi is that I never charge more than I paid. Those of you who have received FREE manuals, complete sets of bodywork etc. . . cool, eh? In addition, and this has come into play 3 times in December, I NEVER sell anything a person can get quickly through a dealer. If you want to know why. . . go in to your dealer and tell them, after they paid some big bucks to become a Buell dealer, that you just ask a construction worker in NYC and he sent it to you free. I know well over a 100 dealers, and get along with the famously, and fear this would strain our relationship. I do HOWEVER make certain that folks who need stuff get it QUICKLY. In addition, citing a case 10 days ago, a Buell owner kept telling me his dealer was telling him "not available" . . . I kept lecturing and telling him "there are a hundred in stock". Guess what? . . . he was right. Total responsibility for the screw up lay with Buell. . . .never got entered in parts system. Ergo . . folks much smarter than me are presently designing a little system that will take the bill of material to build each and every Buell EVER built and periodically place an order for EVERY part and see what happens. Should shed light on future problems quickly. Buell owners make Buell better. |

Thanks Bomber. Thankyou Court. The local dealers here are so far out in left field theres no coming back! Its a shame that there isnt a Buell ONLY dealer. Maybe someone should ask Eric why this hasnt happened. |

Still looking for the chrome Buell fuel tank decal part number? Out of the '99 Lightning parts catalog the chrome are 13970-99Y and come as a pair. Since the extinction of local Buell dealerships for me here locally and the local HD dealership not willing to help, I found Suburban Harley http://www.suburbanharley.com/ to be great. I give them the part numbers of the parts I need and if they don't come up in the system, their parts department finds the new part numbers. They are located right down the road from the warehouse and get things out to you fast. Also, a quick search on Google for the part number came back with a price of $9.04 from http://www.surdyke.com/yamaha/product.asp?prod=120 26&cat=109. Chad |

If you will let me know the year and model I can get you the part numbers (and so, by the way, can your dealer) without delay. All Buell decals, graphics and so forth are in stock and available. |
