Keep this in mind....a New '07 XB9 Firebolt is $8,895. That comes with a Two Year Warranty and upgraded parts from an '03....a Lot of Upgraded parts. So, how much would you be willing to spend on an '03? Does it at least have the Orange wheel bearings and not the faulty Black ones? Make sure that you check that out. It will cost you to have the bearings replaced if they're not orange. But, back to your first question: What is it worth? Probably no more than $5,500. I wouldn't pay any more than $4,895. But it's really what you are comfortable paying. Hope that helps. (Message edited by Brad_buell on August 29, 2006) |

Personally I wouldn't pay more than about 3000 when a new one is under 9000 with the 2 year warranty like Brad said. It's been stored for 4 years? That's a can of worms in and of itself. Was it prepped for storage properly? |

Are you including Tax title and dealer fee on top the of the 9K. That price becomes more like 10K. Most of the 03 Xb9 are about 3 to 4K so you may not need much of loan to get the 03. And if you do the interest on 3 to 4K is lot less then the interest on 9 to 10K. |

I am certainly not looking for a NEW bike... I have a "monthly payment" ride already. R1100s... Looking for a cash ride.. something to make more noise with! How do I tell what wheel bearings It has? Would 4500 after taxes and dealer fees included be a good deal? Thanks for the replies! Keep em coming! |

Look at the color of the exterior bearing races. Black = bad, Red = good With the 03 you should also be very concerned about the drive belt setup. I got 13K out of mine before I removed it and upgraded the whole setup. I've seen some decent 03s with the necessary upgrades (race ecm, pipe and filter) for performance running $4k-5k. Good luck |

I would say 4500 after taxes and fees is a great deal. I was about to pay about $4400 for a 2003 xb9s with about 2000 miles on it and then pay another $600 in shipping, but opted for a 2006 xb12s. I've been watching ebay for a while, and a bike like that would easily go for at least $4500, and possibly more like $5200. |
