If it's a 2000, it should have had the original shock replaced with the shorter shock. The shorter shock uses a chin fairing bracket different from the longer shock X1's. The correct chin fairing bracket for the shorter shock looks kinda like a Z shape when viewing the bracket from the profile view and top view, while the longer shock version looks like a Z shape only in the profile view. I hope this is clear enough to understand. If you got pics I can tell you which shock it is for. 1313 |

Did a little searching (and the keyword here is little) and was able to find a pic of the long shock version of the chin fairing bracket. The pic was 'borrowed' from American Sport Bike (sorry Al), as it is pt. # A17039 for all the hardware needed for the X1 chin fairing. 1313 |
