The Mikuni was on the bike when I bought it. Being this is the only Buell I have had, there is nothing to compare it to. The carb has not given me any troubles at all. I have been very happy with it. Last year I was in the Rocky mountains and was surprised at how well it performed at 12,000 feet. No real loss of power at altitude that I could notice. |

Jason: Haven't received it yet. Send an e-mail my way again if you have a chance. Our firewall and anti-virus software at work can be a little selective. |

Update: The bike is still for sale. However, last week on the way home from work I noticed a problem with a repair that was done a while back. Earlier this summer one of the three wheel bearings on the rear went out causing damage to the PM rim. All three bearings were replaced, but the bad bearing rounded out the aluminum and the new bearing to replace it was no longer a press fit. No other damage was caused to the cycle or the rim in any way. The local dealer recommended a repair to possibly avoid replacing the rim, but it did not hold (by no means the dealer's fault). As a result I have a great running bike with a bad rim. If you are interested, I will adjust the price of the bike accordingly. You could maybe find another PM rim for the rear, or get a set of stock steel rims and sell the front PM. Another possibility is to repair the rim in a more permanent way. Either way, I am a motivated seller and the Buell MUST go. I understand that the bike is less valuable in its current state. I was asking $3200 before the rim problem. I would now consider less to compensate. MAKE ME AN OFFER! |

Thanks Mike. Yes it does look like a nice bike. The wheel can be fixed cheaply and releative easy, if'n ya have access to a machine shop. And it just so happens, I do It would be a bike for the wife. Her skills have certainly outgrown the Blast now. I'm still himmin' and hawin' over what to do. Buy a new '04 or '05 12SCG, or a used tuber...
