Stick with a cooler plug - if your boot ever does go and the plug is hot - the head will go boom - lol - it cost me 179 at DP in SF just for the part - I can post the part number for the ignition tonight if no one else beats me to it. GT - JBOTDS! EZ |

I just ordered this pipe for $136.50. It was discontinued so I got that deal on it. Next step is I believe to get some jets - 45/175 and then drop in a different Intake setup. I was looking at the Intakes on one of the Yahoo sites and I liked this one: Can I just remove the whole Stock Airbox, get an elbow and attach a K&N to that elbow and secure everything? I also read that I should brace the carb too. |

That was a Force prototype - never went into production though some folks have bolted Force intakes for an M2 on with simular results (though it is recommended to modify them so you won't get a false lean condition) - some type of bracing will be needed, but has never been agreed upon where and what to brace with - though springs are popular from the dirt track set (carry an extra boot)- if you where to go that route - for a very simular price you could get the Euro version in CF which would be a lot lighter and already modified - probably the same weight as the Pro-series intake - Thats the Bub exhaust - excellent low and mid range increase - Enjoy! EZ: Where would I get the "Euro version in CF" ? The exhaust I ordered directly from BUB for that price. Pretty cheap. I hope the quality isn't as cheap as the price. I know one should re-jet when doing anything with intake or exhaust....EZ, could I slap that exhaust on temporarily without re-jetting and re-jet when I install the Intake? Or should I be prudent about the whole thing and wait until I get the Intake to put the exhaust on? Finally, I think the Intake on the Buell website is about 100$. If you had to choose the best intake for around that amount of money what would it be? I do like the looks of that Intake posted above... |

That intake is a total custom unit - I would go with an American Sport Bike torque intake stack and a stack filter from OuterWears, and then run springs (see my profile for pics and info on this set up) - link in Links to stuff you can't find here section of the Thumper Knowledge Vault - you should at least rejet the primary to 45, while your in there might as well do the main to 175 - do the jetting when you change the exhaust, and turn the air screw to 2 3/4 turns out from light bottom - the Bub is great - I run it on my city bike and its 5 years old - lol - the CF version you can get from Trojan Horse - a link to be found also in the TKV links to stuff you can't find here section. Hope that helps! GT - JBOTDS! EZ |

kdk102: Sounds like your ignition module is the last thing to change and will cause the problem you described. There is a way to test it but there is no guarantee the test will tell you its bad. If your gonna keep the Blast and do more modifications to it(headwork) this might be a good time to install a Screamin Eagle ignition module. If mods arent planned you may have to fork out the dough on a stock one to find out if yours is bad. |

I'm sure most of us would rather see an XB - Blast type bike than the dirttracker - the dirttracker would definately be an HD type bike, and they wouldn't put the Buell name on that - lol - as you can tell with their race program. GT - JBOTDS! EZ |

Thanks for all of the help EZ. IRS Sports has a cool intake like the one above, I saw it on ebay. I think it's called a Forcewinder. It is 40mm like the BB carb. To all Bad Weather Bikers: I hope this Holiday Season finds you in Good Spirits, Good Health and with lots of money and lovin' (with no strings attached of course). wzz |

Here is a link to the modification you'll have to perform to get the Forcewinder to work correctly http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/3842/11192.html?1098756308 Bracing is the hard trick - perhaps springs on each side going to the head and a bottom brace comming up from the engine - since the hardest forces will be the weight pulling it down would work for that, but if your going Force type get the CF Euro one for 20 bucks more and you won't have to do the modification because it is designed correctly in the first place and they are the origional holders for that intake design - see our sponser - Dark Horse Moto/Trojan Horse for purchase - you want one made for an M2. Also American Sport Bike sells the regular Forcewinders - check their price out as well. GT - JBOTDS! EZ |

Ok guys, i happen to know that Santa has left a brand new set of fog lights under my Christmas tree, and i need some info on how to wire them up. I cant remember a lot of the details on the lights, but i believe that they have a simple positive and negative cable on each. Ideally, i would like to mount these under my normal headlight and be able to turn them on by simply turning on my high beam. Is this possible? I am no electrical genius, but i can work my way around some wiring, and i would hate to screw up my electrical system. If anyone can drop me some hints, that would be great. Otherwise i will just have to dive in! (Message edited by mutt2jeff on December 23, 2004) |

Pull the plug of the headlight and use a test light to find out which is the high beam, then tap into that wire. (or read the electrical schematic in the manual-unfortunately or fortunately though, the manual breaks down the electrical into bits and pieces instead of a full diagram. I found it to be annoying but some may find it easier).Run the black wire to ground. Anyway, your quest is a simple one! |

Update on Cityx handguards. Temp in mid 20's and very little air flow over hands and almost none up jacket sleeves.Major improvement. Also the faster the speed seemed to do better.Once again Merry Christmas to all my fellow Blasters |

Gearhead, thanks! How do i go about getting the extra power for the lights? I know that the bike has a circuit for accessorys, i take it that it is already wired up and routed to the front of the bike? I hope so. |

First, I'll apologize as I dont have access to my manual right now. The correct answer would be: How many watts are these fog lights? Do the directions that came with them give any indication as to whether they will overload your bikes electrical? The plug to disconnect & check is the one that plugs directly into the headlight. That will mean a minimum of new wiring if you tap in there. I have not looked at the manual(see above disclaimer) so I do not know about the separate accessories circuit and if anything runs through it. If you want to run it through a separate circuit (other than the headlight circuit) but want them to light up with the high beam switch, you will need to use a separate headlight relay (or starter relay) to 'fire up' the fog lights. So: easy way is just to run it off the wires at the headlight, but that may not be possible if the foglights use to much juice. Not so easy: run it through a separate wiring (circuit)using a relay to light up the fog lights with the high beam switch (which may be necessary if the fog lights draw to much current). There are other ways to hook up different/extra lights and others here may have experience on what the maximum wattage is that may be used on the headlight circuit. |

I've been having lunch with one of the 3%ers here lately, since we work nearby one another. Blaster_s Sam's a really great guy. We met today, and he let me ride his Blast around the parking lot. Bad news, this could cause some marital friction. After being curious about the Blast for quite some time (especially because of EZ and his machines), I've always wondered how a modified Blast would feel. The stockers at the dealership only made me more curious. Sam's Blast ROCKS! I have got to get me one of these! Clown , says he can get me one on the cheap from the Rider's Edge. I'm a goner... |

Depends really how deep you have the bevel on the pedal - lol - I'm sure the majority of Blasts fans bemoan the prices for rearsets - still they pay for themselves in smile factor. And once your hooked - lol - so the Dark side grows! - Got Thump?! Just Blasting on the Dark side! EZ |

See the S-1 framed Blast in the Photo section - modifying the stock shifter and fabricating the rest shouldn't be too hard - tend to find out soon enough my self with a friends bike and some extra parts laying around - lol - the whole setup would come in at around 70 bucks for materials and 20 more for the longer bolts - then with the right tools its cutting and trimming after some basic measurements with a set of calipers - lol - I only say this because I have both types to compare and take notes from - and that looks to be exactly what WB and others have done as well for their custom rearsets - materials you can pick up at Home Depot or any materials wholesaler - lol - The expensive part of the whole project has always been the shifter mechanism itself - that looks like a simple enough alteration though - GT - JBOTDS! Speaking of Cafe Blasts has anyone replaced the gas tank with a metal one? There are so many different shaped metal tanks available (been looking at all the hop up body parts for the Yammie SR) that I have started to get more ideas about moding my Blast...especially since I have it for a few months before I can ride it (moving to Conn next year). |

Tony - Howdy! - did you take the Black insulation part on the underside of the gas tank off - I know it was talked about - but forgot who did what - lol - would make getting to the plug easier - how heavy are the metal tanks and how easy would they be to adapt? - hmmm - always the alternatives - welcome back! No not me I have a Ghetto spark plug socket that a cheap ratchet box end fits on...it looks nasty but it works well... They aren't heavy though heavier than stock nor are they cheap,$200-$300 at the bottom end but the look is nice and there is also the option of a magnetic tankbag. What I need is the width of the frame backbone and distance from front to rear (where the bolts attach to the frame) so I can size the tanks I've found here...mostly I'm shopping for parts to pack out. I may end up have a tank made when I return. |
