Just got a 2002 Blast, and to change all the fluids easily, I cut the OEM exhaust off at the flare, and dropped the whole bottom portion. To replace, I'm using this, which I found at Tractor Supply co:

https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/stanley- muffler-company-inlet-aluminized-muffler-fo-4?cm_v c=-10005

It has the benefit of being 1-5/8" OD pipe, and I'll be using 1-3/4" flex pipe or perhaps rubber mounted 90° elbow to connect it to the OEM pipe. I'll post back a pic when it's done. Hope this helps someone...

That muffler is rated for a tractor engine ranging in size from 134 cubic inches to 172. That translates into approximately 2196cc~2819cc. RPM range & thus volume of exhaust per inch of displacement will be similar to the Blast engine. I couldn't say based on practical use of this muffler, but I think it might be a bit 'loud'. It certainly ought to have very little resistance to exhaust flow. I want to know how this turns out

All mufflers aren’t equal, but it doesn’t hurt to try a few out. Some are loud and rob power. Some are “quiet” and produce more power than stock. Enjoy!

@Gearheaderiko - that's why I want to see what happens with this choice

I know from my own experience, everytime my exhaust broke off at the port, my bike picked up a lot more power. So I know the stock muffler is slowing things down a bit

There's a muffler design I came up with for a 1983 Honda XL600, that was quiet at low speed part throttle, then got really loud at full throttle & high-RPM's. I think it was transitioning into a bypass mode at higher exhaust flow rates. It made noticeably more power than the carefully tuned Supertrap that came with the bike & much quieter when needed

I'd love to put another one like it on the Blast, but there's not enough room under the engine. I had been thinking about putting the muffler in between the front wheel and the engine, but now I'm trying to sell the bike. So that's probly not happening
