lol, EZ thanks ; ). After racking my head about this. I pulling the headlight out. Bummer, because I soldered the male ends. From what I learned. One has to heat around the lens to unglue it. Heat gun or take the elements out and put it in a oven. Seal the crack and seal the lens back. I'm going to break down tomorrow and see a auto glass shop. And not open it? I will ask and see what they say. If it will seal well enough from the outside. I can do it. But I'm not sure I want to play around with pulling the 'lens' and sealing it back, myself... To Jay, who was looking for a headlight, maybe. This light does fit. I put back the stock light and it fits the same. I was wrong about the 'nest' being a bit too small. It fits. Which also leads me to believe, I may have had 'dumb luck' and it got hit when on my ride? Or as EZ said, someone may have hit it. That's the good and bad for today. Happy riding all. |

EZ, Is this the lamp you're using: http://www.amazon.com/Rivera-Primo-HedLED-Phase-He ad/dp/B00M9IIUN0 Does it need anything else (different connectors, etc.) for mounting? I think I've asked you this before, but I've forgotten where to find it. |

Yup - that's the light - daylight bright on high! Nope - mounts just like the cheap copy but with much better sealed wiring. EZ (Message edited by ezblast on June 09, 2015) |

EZ, I don't have the copy - I have a standard halogen (Hella) headlight. If I got the Rivera lamp, I'm understanding it plugs right in, correct? Do I need additional connectors for the turn signal leads? Do I need male/female couplers/adapters or anything else? Just wanting to make sure. I HATE getting halfway into a job just to find out I didn't order or get everything I need to finish it. Bike's down for no reason, and typically everywhere local will then be out of stock on whatever I need. |

The main light plugs right in, but the turn signal wires are sleeved bare wires - your choice on how to hook them up to the signal wires - still it was fairly straight forward and easy to do. EZ |

Thanks! I can do that.... Might be a few months before I do it, but this is an upgrade that I'm looking forward to for the bike. Jay |

The wiring on my light sounds the same as EZ's. Plug in the headlight and wire the signals. This is the 'male' plug I used. It was measured at the electronics store exact to stock. One drop of Solder and done. Plug it right back in.

Very Happy to give back.... Also Jay. So your not surprised, When you take it apart. I had to drill a 1/4 inch hole in the 'bucket' (black plastic behind the nest). To fit the 4 wires through. You'll get it, when your there. It was the only way I saw fit. Then solder the 'male' ends on. And when facing the bike. The right headlight wires go in the left 'female'. Visa-versa. You see that too, when you take the stock signals off. Enjoy. |

Was riding my blast yesterday and it died on me. Now it won't idle. I checked the boot, spark, engine timing and all seemed to be fine. A lot of white smoke coming from the carb. Oh it does have gas btw. Switched it to reserve and everything. The spark is new I put it in after this all happened. But the old was very black. Please help so I can ride again!!!! |

EZ, I do have to ask. "I ran the signal wires through the rubber boot." I'm a photographer. I'm visual. Not mechanical ; -). I didn't see another way to go. It worked. but. What 'rubber boot'? The wires out of the headlight were not that long. That's how I saw it... All ways curious. And learning. thanks. |

ok... i suppose i will see what ideas the collective have... 2009 blast. 400 miles. bone stock. will not start of its own accord... crank and crank and crank... many times it will give a half pop sort of, everytime you start cranking it again but then nothing and just crank away with no signs of life. if i can somehow get it to fire up, then it will run and ride as if nothing is wrong. and before you say it, brand new carb boot on it... it sat since 09. carb has been cleaned and rechecked and cleaned a couple times. new gas, rides and responds fine once running. im thinking maybe the enrichener is not functioning...? since once started and warmed up it seems to restart. until it is left to sit for awhile again. i will probably pull an enrichener off one of the other blasts just to see if thats it i suppose... |

Try stating fluid before going to all that trouble. If it starts every time with starting fluid then you know you likely have a fuel problem and not an ignition problem. Choking the carb with your hand also works. Check the module for LED flash. Your problem is highly indicative of a bad module. 400 miles and you cleaned the carb? |

400 miles and its been sitting with the same fuel in it since 2009. yes i cleaned the carb and drained the fuel tank/lines. because they were full of crap. all 8 of them i bought... and the majority of them would not start. this is the only one that still doesnt. the module flashes when its running. starting fluid was working some... but not very effective with the airbox/filter back on. hand over carb did not work. |

luckily i still have a couple of the fleet left, so i can swap parts instead of buying them while diagnosing it. |

LED should flash while trying to start. Flashes with every power stroke. Bad modules tend to flash every 3rd power stroke or flash erratically. |

(but there are no rules when it comes to ignition modules, anything can happen!) |

Double checked, flashes with every revolution... Will not start without some spray, or hand closing of the intake, and then some throttle... once warmed up its fine, but if running and not warmed up it likes to pop through the carb. Only at idle though. Give some throttle and it behaves as it should. Once it's been running a bit you can shut it off and it will restart just fine. But leave it sit for an hour or 2, or over night and no go without persuasion... really thinking the electronic enrichener is not working... |

Try this.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=toYTwg2XR-0 Well, try it a few times until you get it right. Mine works now at 50 feet above sea level and to my surprise at 2000 feet above. Go figure. |

PS There's a lot of good information here and on the BRO site to modify or diagnose the AE. Sorry I dont have the links |

If I did it right, its a "how to" on the stupid enrichment thing. A very good one BTW from BRO. Took me a few beers to get mine right, but kinda cool when it works right. |

I was looking at it tonight. Cranked on it pretty good and couldn't get that thing loose to adjust it. Could have some th in to do with being way under the weather and run down though too... lol. My grip is noticeably not up to par. Is there any way to actually see if that thing is moving? Doesn't seem like there would be... Pulled the enriched out and plugged the whole in the side with my finger just to see what happened. Not much. Thought maybe it would be like turning the choke all the way on... I still can't figure out why even once I get it fired up, it keeps backfiring through the carb at idle. No boot and all... |

Try adjusting the air idle screw to two turns out? Check that timing cup is not loose, badly attached plug, leak at the exhaust outlet, bad fuel, check diaphragm seating. EZ (Message edited by ezblast on June 24, 2015) |

Concur! (I assume you mean while idling it backfires) There is a page in the carb section that shows how the AE looks opened and closed. |
