They sell a glue that acts also as a sealer for gas fittings by Loctite - did you apply something like that to the fitting? I would have. Make it so tight you can't move it. EZ |

For all those who want a tach, but don't want to spend high - http://www.bakerelectronix.com/products_tsd/ This little device plus any old twin tach would allow you to run a tach without spending big money. Finally someone made the device we have been waiting for. EZ |

I did put a 'dab' of loctite on the CVP base. Because I thought I was going to get it in all the way. But it stopped where it is ; -). So your saying, if I put a dab of loctite on the round part of the CVP and push it back. It should be ok. Without it being flush. As long as it's not going anywhere.... I also bought the TTO as the other guy on buellriders. Instal it today. Will see. I'll have to read more about this little gadget you linked to ez. Many Thanks. |

EZ, I did this successfully in '13 as referenced here when I sold an extra Buell tach: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/201 64/712200.html?1396563371 Also required an inline capacitor and a ground wire wrapped around the length of the tach signal wire to steady the needle. |

Yes - but they improved that little gadget and now it has filters to deal with that sort of issues. EZ |

Really? Looks like the same unit I bought from them a few years ago. Are you or anyone else installing one can confirm? Ralph Wise at Baker was great to work with and helped resolve those issues. |

Thanks EZ! If they have updated that's great but even if they didn't it's really not that big of a deal to make work and the support from those guys was great. |

why is this section the only one that doesnt have individual threads? I have two questions: a) without crazy motor work, how much power will a blast put out (no boring cylinder etc)? b) anyone transplanted the thumper motor into different chassis BESIDES those hideous 'chopper' kits? |

What's crazy - pretty vague definition there - you could get a high comp piston but then your in that crazy department again - really your just asking about the basic mods I did a write up on long ago - that will probably net you three to four over stock - lol EZ |

And besides my bike
There is a group in england with a custom Harris chassis, etc, Called Mac http://www.mac-motorcycles.com/story.html But they like crazy motor work as well and have consulted with Terry P., myself, Nallin and others to get the most performance out of a Blast engine reliably. It's a nice bike, but I'd pit mine against it any day with confidence. EZ |

without replacing the piston, all I could expect is 3 or 4hp? wow. found the mac site last night, but dont see where they are selling the frames/bikes, just sketches (in fact its JUST SKETCHES, didnt see any pictures of actual bikes) I dont like the blast, I think its ugly. But I like the idea of a small thumper for getting around town, something to play with. And I like Buells, so why Im interested in the blast as a donor more than anything. DONT want a chopper, the redneck kits are hideous, nothing like that AT ALL |

The actual bike is running - you didn't cruise that site well - lol - check their blog. They are gearing up to sell kits and bikes. Whats wrong with my bike - easy enough to duplicate with a bit of welding - lol EZ |

Nothing is 'wrong' with you bike, I just am not a fan of blasts. I browsed around the site but, in fact, did NOT go to the 'blog' section. When I scrolled through the various models and saw no pricing and they wree all, pretty much, the same sketch (only small differences between the four) I just assumed. |

The Blast engine has been put into XB and tube Buell frames as well as flat track frames. Or make what you want out of the Blast. A lot has been done in the past 15 years to make the Blast look and perform very differently. As far as different threads? This section has hundreds We try to keep it down as we don't want a hundred different threads on exhaust, for instance. The Badweb search feature works very well! 3-4 hp is a 10% increase in horsepower, more % if measured at the rear wheel. Its all relative on what you have to start with. But 3-4hp doesn't tell the whole story. It's in how the bike performs that major improvement are made, 3-4hp doesn't tell the whole story. |

Concur - some basic carb work, and a few basic mods to stock parts can reap a real transformation in the motor. I'ts always been just a question of how much effort, time and money you are willing to spend - lol EZ |

You can make the Blast into whatever you want it to be!
FYI, XB front end coming soon! |

I dig that! One of my biggest issues with the blast, aesthetically, is the wheels. XB wheels look great, and that tail looks nice there |

I hated the blast wheels, and that huge ugly rear pulley. XB wheels look way better and perform better too! I like the naked, cafe, street tracker look. So, I kind of mashed then all together. The motor has an XB top end. Ultima ignition with rev limit set to 7500. 26t front pulley gets back pretty close to stock gearing. It's pretty damn fun to ride! Be even better when I get the XB forks on it! |

I am putting bar end mirrors on and was looking into handle bars other than stock. These are 4 lbs. and inexpensive. http://www.amazon.com/Black-Cafe-Racer-Clubman-Han dlebar/dp/B004PQOT8Y These are at 8 lbs and more than twice the price. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GS4F20U?psc=1 http://www.lossaengineering.com/collections/motroc ycle-parts Loosa seems to make some nice parts. Heavier Bars better? I assume turning won't hit the tank. Since they are lower? thanks. |

Mark, Heavier bars do not vibrate as much as light weight bars. Kenny G |

Thanks, I thought so. The Loosa Bars look like solid workmanship. I'll take suggestions. Just getting ideas at the moment. Being 5'8" I like the short blast seat and would like to be a little more forward, than the horizontal bar position. Now, I just got my Bar-End Mirrors in. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Motorcycle-3-Round-7-8-Han dle-Bar-End-Rear-view-Side-Mirrors-For-Street-Bike s-/151330822540?fits=Make%3ABuell%7CModel%3ABlast And although it says they are for 7/8th bars. And blast compatible. The fit into the bar, is small. Even if the silver fitting is supposed to expand when tightened. There is a 1/16th of play? Just enough 'not' to make it tight. I could try to put my bar end cap rubber around it? I mean, they were 11 dollars ; -) hmm. They should fit though. They are nice. And for the record. The round mirrors are 'Wide!!!! Much wider view than the standard. |

You want wider bars something with close to a 12" middle for cafe bars so they lock. EZ |

Yes, want them to lock. That is good to know. Thank you. I'll stick with my black horizontal for now. I would like a safe brighter head light... I see someone bought a headlight/ turn signal LED for cheap. 15$ in china. But some of you have this one. http://www.ebay.com/itm/7-PROJECTOR-HALOGEN-MOTORC YCLE-AMBER-LED-HALO-LIGHT-BULB-HEADLIGHT-For-Harle y-/251502103045 Everyone happy with it. Bright enough. Easy for a dummy (me) to install. Happy Friday! |

Yes - I was running that light just before given the Primo Rivera 2 light to run from a friend - it is a very good light, it's is a less expensive copy of the Primo Rivera 2 light, but the Primo light is brighter with 5 super LEDs for low and both those LEDs and a 50 Watt HID for high. It lights up like frikken daylight on high. EZ |

Here is the beast. Very proud of the work I did all by myself. And she runs great...
Two things. I was putting on my Bar End mirrors and somehow, now, my throttle won't snap back like it did. I took the right mirror off. Even of, throttle won't snap back. I'll look it up, but any help is helpful.... 2- On a ride yesterday. I stopped at the store. Got back on and started it. And the 'dan's boot' popped right off the manifold end. It may have been loose. But I did read Vince? or someone was looking for a Torque value for the Superboot. I did not find a answer. Anyone know ballpark, how tight to torque the Super boot? Nothing I know of is wrong with the bike. Love the Mods, love the ride. Feels and sounds Great !!!!! thanks Any one know why the Buellriders Online sight is down today?? |

maintenance, maintenance, all ways maintenance ; -)))... I mentioned vince in my above post. It was Jay. I'm sorry for that name error Jay. He did pretty much the same mods as I did. But I'm on a 46/180 jetting. And I just adjusted my Idle Mix screw. I think it was in a turn too tight. It was not holding a cold start Idle. The speed screw is perfect and warm I was running at 1050 rpm. according to the TTO. |

Hi I'm a new blast owner and I'm trying to get some more power out of my bike, i was going to order the intake mod on eBay from dans customs and the intake boot but it doesn't seem to be listed anymore. I can't find any of his stuff anymore. Is there another intake for the blast out there? |
