Rubber mallet and a large screw driver will work!

That and a LOT of persistence. lol...
It's easier to get it started by using the screwdriver like a crowbar, putting it against the frame and using the leverage to push the rubber off the bar. Once you get it started, the rubber mallet comes in handy. Also, go against the grain of the rubber, or you'll just turn the screwdriver into a large nail. lol...
Of course, that's if the tank hasn't been off before.
You'll want to use Saro's method, but that's really not necessary. lol...

I used the claw of a hammer and a rag to cushion the frame.

Ok, I pried the rubbers off the frame posts, undid the gas line and removed the underside heat shield, but it seemed stuck on the cylinder head.....I really need a step by step after the rubber is off. HELP!!!

In the Thumper Knowledge vault - where we are now - back one to get here - you see a list of all the Blast knowledge Vault topics - including two up from yours - one mentioning Blast Manual - in it you will find a blue Link - double click it - it will open onto a new page - create a file for the manual on your own comp - put only the pdf files for the manual in that file and they will interact - add other stuff and they don't - so told - a valuable tool to really help, however, there are several small errors - as already mentioned elsewhere - lol

They are correct! Tank is tilted back onto frame - make parallel -slide forward, tilt up rear of tank to clear front tank securing bars and slide back till clear, then lift up and forward - careful - the air scoop likes to catch on the fuel lever turning it on and spilling fuel. Thats it - just as the book says! Have fun!
