You all answered a bunch of my questions before and helped a ton. We put it back together and my son took it to bike week. we put 750 miles on it in fla. run good. had to tighten carb cplr once. my son loves the bike BUT it has leaked oil out from bottom of rod cover forever. if you are sitting on bike seems like oil comes out the front left bolt. we have tore it down twice. same deal. tried new stock rubber gasket - was torque to specs because bike was in two the first time. now we have a paper gasket in it and same deal. so whats the trick to getting the stock rubber to not leak .. do you use an adhesive if so which? we saw one other blast at bike week. it was yellow flying flags. but a lot of people knew what it was. ill try to get a pic up here of my sons |

I converted to pushrod tubes that HD (Buell) had been using for years. It makes cam changes and all kinds of other repairs much simpler. You'll hear "they leak". They dont. All gaskets leak if improperly installed. Been running with them for over 30 years on different bikes and they are not prone to leakage. |

I see the two pc kits - might try that. |

To install them you don't have to remove the cylinder head, but you will have to cut the old cover off (careful not to fill up the lifters with cuttings). You will have to pull only the top rocker cover off. I use adjustable pushrods which means I don't have to touch the top end at all for some repairs (you still can't install or remove the pushrods without pulling the top rocker cover). I'm also not running stock lifters either. They're aren't something you need, but just an FYI. |

do you use an adhesive with these? I don't want to do it wrong again. |

No adhesive. Unless the type you get uses a paper gasket, then I use Hi tach. Nothing on any rubber parts. |
