Here's a little background that may or may not be related to my current situation.

When I first got my 2002 Buell Blast, the bike would die if in neutral and the clutch was released. It was confusing, but not a problem. I just had to hold the clutch in during warm-up, no biggie. I always assumed it was something wrong with the neutral switch or something. Then one day I let off the clutch while it was in neutral on accident and it didn't die. So the next few months it was great, I didn't need to hold the clutch while in neutral, awesome.

Then 3 days ago, when I went to leave from work, I let off of the clutch while in neutral and the bike died. I experimented with it for a couple of minutes, lifting and lowering the kickstand. And no change. I didn't feel like getting to deep into such a minor problem so I just left it alone.

Now to this morning. I went to leave for work. I put it in 1st gear, gave throttle while letting off clutch. I felt it bog down so I pulled clutch back in. (I tried several methods of more throttle, less clutch etc.) And could never get the bike to move an inch. It feels exactly like when you accidentally leave the kickstand down and it dies.

I know, long ass story, but what do you think? Kickstand switch? Neutral Switch? Both?

thanks

"Tie" or join or connect the 2 wires to the kickstand switch together and your problem should be solved.

If that doesnt solve it, let us know.

Well here's the deal. After a brief inspection of the wiring to the kickstand, I could only find one thing. Quite a bit of corrosion on the tabs inside the clip connector. I live down here in Groves Tx, so corrosion has been the root of many of my electrical problems. I scuffed the connection a bit, plugged it back in, and half of my problem is gone. It seems like an unlikey fix, maybe just a coincidence, but there it is.

Now it rides just fine, but still kills in neutral when the clutch is released. Not a big deal for me as I'm usually geared up before I even start up.

P.S.
Just noticed I posted in the quickboard. Meant to put it in knowlege vault.

LOL - somebody who actually fixed his kickstand switch - too funny! Flip the center diode to override the clutch kill safety switch. Or fix it. - lol
