I have here my new 2008 Blast, with just over 5000km on it. I've given it a really good going through, but I'll make another thread on that. Anyways, I was doing some cleaning and noticed a loose washer behind the left side engine mount bracket bolt. I was going to check the torque on it just now, but noticed hey, how to I get a socket over it!? The front down trelis/frame is in the way. I was also poking around the isolator, and snapped a pic. You guys are the experts, does it look right and ok? I'm not getting any crazy vibes or strange handling, etc. Is it sagging or something, lowering the engine a touch, thus restricting access to the bolt?

Thanks!

I'll check when I get home, but if you can't get to the bolt head, there is a problem!
DO NOT ride your bike until you fix this. It'll be a lot of trouble if things go bad with this bolt, trouble you don't want!

Thanks Gearheader, I agree 100%....

I pointed a flash light up in there, and it looks like the centre part the bolt passes through is sagging/dropped down, you can see the torn rubber around it, underneath. So even though the bike rides fine etc, and the mount doesn't seem to have totally failed, better safe than sorry. So, I tore the bike down. The bike is new to me, and I have a Vance & Hines exhaust on order and jets for the carb, so I wasn't going to tear it down until then, but now I have a reason. I'll replace the mount, check torque of various fasteners, replace the spark plug, clean the bike up, etc. Since I had the exhaust off, I preped and repainted that as well.

Also, when I support the engine with my jack, and replace the mount... Is checking torque/tightening the isolator bracket bolts into the cylinder head as simple as torquing to spec and good to go? Or do I have to remove them, loctite, and reinstall...

I would torque to spec - max spec.
