No - because you'll trash the front and rear stabilizers in no time. Definitely a street bike, unless you make another frame for it - a feather bed chassis would do the job. EZ |

I know how that chassis handles, with that engine I could really have a Blast! Damn it! Why didn't they even try it, a bike like that would have made a great series race. |

You can buy the cf frame protector covers pretty cheap, and they would hide that dent no problem - lol - and protect the frame. EZ |

Swampy that frame and a Blast engine with xb9 head/piston/cam and fi would have been a terrific bike - period. - Dumb ass HD. EZ |

You're not helping me EZ! I already spent an hour (or 2) researching "options"!!! Now I just need to decide which way to go (and find $$$). Yes, it would have made a very nice bike. Probably sales in the XR number range, but hardly much more cost in R&D. Make it an XB low..... |

Get ahold of Loose1, I rode his FI Blast with the XB swingarm and XB front wheel. It looked pretty simple you just need a place to put a fuel pump....WAIT....The frame! LOL! |

Though he may want to trade info with Lee concerning rear stabilizer mounting and fuel injection - I think between the two of you all questions will finally be answered! And the Darkside will win out over all! - lol EZ |

You help me with mounting my beast into my frame and I'll help you with EFI on an XBlast motor. I'm debating a couple options for TB mounting in the XB frame; turn it up like a stock XB or leave it angled back like it is in the Blast frame... (Message edited by JetLee on April 17, 2014) |

Picked up my 1st bike last night, an '03 with 3700 miles on it. Already cruising around the back roads this morning until the rain started. Also - I'm already tracking to ditch the dunlops before they ditch me, working on getting a new set of treads.

Jetlee, I'll certainly trade info and pictures! As far as parts, I know where to get them, its just if anybody had any stuff from a project long gone that they'd want to get rid of?! Jetlee, maybe we have parts to trade or you've got some extra's to sell. I'm not interested at all at using the chain drive for instance! Only a very select few will notice at what angle you mount the engine! |

Buffalomike, Great bike... In before the rest of the crowd....lose the Dunlops as quick as you possibly can. That front tire is dangerously incompetent (as many of us can tell you from experience). It WILL eventually dump the bike. There is a ton of good info here on better tires, but the stock replacement Pirelli MT-75s are superb tires that grip exceptionally well. Diablo Scooter tires are also highly recommended here. Congrats on the new ride! |

Saw a Yellow Blast following a White Can Am exiting Carbon Canyon on the Chino Hills side yesterday around 4:40 pm. Anybody here that we know of? I know it wasn't JProvo. |

Erik, I think we can work out a trade with very little issue. You want belt, I'd like chain...doesn't seem like it'd be too difficult. I just need to find me some 17" wheels and front end parts. I was about to say, "Hey, EZ's welder looks just like mine!" then realized, "Oh yeah...it is mine." lol! Need a pic after we finished it up on Sunday morning at like 4am. haha (Message edited by JetLee on April 21, 2014) |

Yup - bent forks, busted up front, and front of main frame bent as well - rest of bike pretty much untouched except for the shifter side rearset - I've spent a lot of time fixing and modifying old parts to work again, and transferring parts over, and rebuilding the primary took weeks, had to finally call in a friend to get the rotor off the stator - the plastic from the chewed up tensioner had welded the crank to the rotor and it wasn't giving without some serious auto pry-bars and a disbelieving Buell mechanic friend - fireman Jim - helping to pull it off. It's been a slow process, but for me this is the sign of a half way point - a lot more work to go, but all in good time. Vader's gonna look sharp, and I'm betting I reach my goal weight of 325 lbs for it by the time I'm done. The only plastic on it will be the tank and pulley cover. Vader will be naked - just the way I like it! A modern cafe! EZ |
