Unless you widen the rim it's extremely unlikely it would fit. It would, at minimum, be too tall. | ||

I'm buying a used 2007 Blast dirt cheap that has sat for 3 years stored in a garage. Any suggestions on what to do before starting it? Plan on draining the gas and replacing. Also the oil and battery. Owner said the last time she tried to start it the battery was weak and it would not start. | ||

How's my miles on it ? Is it completely stock? Get it running, period, before doing a whole bunch of stuff to it. DO NOT TAKE THE CARB APART TO GIVE IT A GOOD CLEANING, it doesn't need it. Oil capacity is 2.25 quarts and after sitting for 3 years, most of it is in the crankcase. IT WILL SHOW EMPTY on the dipstick and the frame will be bone dry. Oil change (without draining the crankcase) is 1.5 quarts and the Blast is very easy to overfill. Between lines on the dipstick is 8 ounces not 1 quart. Frankly, I wouldnt try changing the oil until it runs and you can get an accurate reading on the dipstick and drain it hot. It would be beneficial to pull the spark plug and add some oil in the cylinder, let it sit awhile, then crank the engine over (without spark plug) to get the oil flowing through the engine. Then put the plug back in and try starting it. The slow/pilot jet in the carb often will clog from long periods of sitting. This is a VERY common cause of hard starting and poor running after sitting for a long time. Again, avoid the temptation of pulling the carb apart and cleaning it. It very often just leads to more problems. Buy a new #45 slow jet and replace it when and if needed. $6-$10. Again, get it running first before doing a whole bunch if maintenance items. Sitting in a garage should mean very little problems in the way of corrosion and decay. But if you start doing a whole bunch of work to it before seeing how it actually runs, if you have a problem you won't know if you caused it or if it already had it and you've just compounded the problem of where to look first. Remember, it's not a 50 year old barn find, just a 6 year old motorcycle that has been sitting for 3 years. You'd be doing just fine if you just replaced the battery and tried to start it without doing any thing else. But those are your 2 options. (I'd probably just do the latter) Good luck! | ||

Thanks for the input and the welcome. It appears to have little miles on it. The rubber, which I assume to be original, looks like new. Pet •••• was on when I looked at it so that old gas has had easy access to the float bowl for who knows how long. The intake has been removed and a custom air filter has been installed. Other than that it's all original. | ||

If the tires are not Pirelli - then they are Dunlops and unsafe - ditch them asap with Pirelli as the new tires - straight up. Wouldn't put a dime into a Blast running Dunlops till I replaced the tires with anything else for safety's sake - one goof on a test ride and your into repairs - Dunlops suck and will toss you with little provocation. Any other tire will be a marked improvement in your ride - best mod for the buck - both safety and handling improve dramatically - no more following rain groves or randomly sliding on road paint, sand, spit - anything - Dunlops suck - period. lol Welcome! Any tires that are 3-6 years old should be replaced. Did anyone mention that the stock Dunlops are downright dangerous?  | ||

Don't know if anyone mentioned that, but someone should let him know that getting rid of any Dunlop tires is a priority; also not to disassemble the carb for a "good cleaning"!  | ||

It has Dunlops. Will take a pic when I get the bike. The owner has applied for a duplicate title from the state of California. We live in Minnesota. There will be some interaction with a couple of government entities. Will be picking it up after the holidays. I'll probably get a Vance and Hines exhaust and for sure a Super Boot once it's up and running reliably. | ||

 Except pulling the float bowl to change jets! Do consider changing at least the front tire to a Pirelli MT 75. It's cheap and exceptional! If it is a California bike you'll need to disconnect the charcoal EPA canister. But if it doesn't have the stock air box, this has probably already been done. If not, IT MUST BE DONE!!! | ||

Okay, the pictures cut off, but it looks far from stock. Under the rear of the seat, above the wheel, clearly visible, is a soda can sized black canister with 3 hoses attached to it. See if its there (but by the picture it looks as if that part of the frame is completely gone!). | ||

I see the airbox is removed. Looks like rear peg arms are cut off... Is the tail chopped? From what I can see, it looks like it might be... Looks good though... | ||

Foot pegs are chopped. I believe the frame to be unchopped. The seat is shortened. Everything looks like a quality modification. I'm buying it from a coworker who is an accomplished machinist. | ||

Here's a pic of my other bike. 1949 Panhead. Been riding it for over thirty years. The Buell will be totally different than what I'm accustomed to. It will also be my first bike with electric start!  | ||
