I was having quite a bit of engine troubles with the little blast, so I ripped it apart to try and find the problem.... Then I realized.... It was the wrong colour!!!!

buellkay All the silver is a spray-on chrome. I put on about 10 coats, used 2 cans. The grey is spray coating for bumpers, and I only put 5 coats on (to keep a dull finish), used 2 cans. The seat is just a vinyl upolstry spray, I sprayed it twice, hardly using any from the can. I used "mag cleaner" for etched aluminum on the rims, making them look like new. The mistake I made was: I tried applying a clear coat over the chrome, it "melted" the chrome paint, and I was forced to start those areas over. I picked up all products out of the automotive section. Total paint job cost was less than $50 cdn, and took one day. Hope that helps! |

Snotires, that looks great!!! So great in fact that last night I went to my local paint store and picked up a few cans of Metallic Silver paint for flexible plastic, thank you very much for posting those pics and putting the idea into my head that the Blast looks great in a silver finish... Can't wait to start spraying... |

Here it is...for those of you following in the Customization thread, I'm very pleased with the results...the 600cc kit and Kenda tires will have to wait until this winter...in the meantime, I think he at least looks fast! (Message edited by ezblast on August 05, 2004) |

Vjb--I wouldn't have believed that those mirrors look better on a bike than on the website. Niiiiiiiiice... Also, nice work on the taillight/signals/plate mounting. The bike looks great, dude. |

That's cool. Now figure out how to chop 3 inches off the plastic above the tail lamp so they line up again.

Hey Kat...Nice rearend! I'll let my secret out...I just used some common 4" L-Brackets w/holes I got @ my Ace Hardware along with an 8" straight bracket w/holes to mount (bolt) the light and the plate...I had to drill 2 additional holes in the straight bracket and hack off 1/2 inch each side of it to mount the 7" license plate to the straight bracket and the straight bracket to the L-bracket...after I figured it out it was an easy thing to do...if you can tell the tail light is flush with the end of the bike... |

Vince, great minds think alike too! I used L brackets also, leftover from a waterbed frame. |
