It will if it bleeds - the current is not meant to go in that direction. EZ |

Hi all. New user here. Live in SoCal. Just picked up an '06 that will need some work but mostly in decent shape. Not new to bikes, and had an '01 Blast (the wife's) until sold it to buy a house in '03. This looks to be a good group and I'm glad I found it. See you around. |

Thanks everyone. Sycho, that's almost funny - I too used to commute almost every day through Carbon Canyon, but in my truck. Just changed jobs and now head the other way to Corona though. |

I think I may just buy a generic muffler and put it on. Saw them online for about $30.00 Blueblast, that's aweseom! I live in Anaheim and work in Corona. =) |

MAKE SURE it's 1 3/4" all the way through. If it closes down to less than that (and they do) it will cost you lots of power, even putting it slower than a stock Blast. You can get cheaper than $30 (not much, but). |

Hi all, I just scored a 2005 Buell Blast last Saturday and I would like to share a picture with you all. The bike has 2,250mi and appears to be in very good condition. The tags came today so I will be riding tomorrow, YEEHAW. Best wishes to all. |

Hello all, I am new to the Blast community. I greatly appreciate the wealth of information available on this site. I acquired a Blast recently and have gotten it running thanks to yalls information. However, after warming up it acts like it wants to die. If i give it gas it sounds fine, but when I let it idle it hiccups and will eventually die. |

Idle too low? What's it set at? Should be 1200 rpm when warmed up. Much higher if cold or on start up. |

To my Buell Brothers, I am 3 Coronas and a double shot of Amoretta sleeping on the floor of DTW waiting for my plane to arrive and I WANT to see the H-D (Spit) 500 before I take off! |

Thanks EZ HA!, HA! Double downtube but with the Blast foot peg frame, I'm calling Bravo Serria! In the above artists rendition there is no oil tank, and the carb is stuck into the side of the fuel tank. When all was said and done we didn't get to the island until after 01:20 I finished my stay in the D by buying a drink (double 7/7) for a poor soul that had his flight cancelled to NY. I offered to buy a drink for an older gentleman named Vat from Albania but he declined. Vat however insisted on giving me his phone number to reward me for my kindness in offering him a drink. I am to call him when I want to go to Albania to start a business. Apparently Vat has some connections in the business ministry in Albania that one needs for starting up businesses over there...you never know... Merry Christmas everyone, except for lawyers and judges, may you all rot in Hell. |

I think the frame would be similar to C&J's, with similar body work to boot. FI with EI with a dual switch - beginners/regular using XB9 jug and head, and XB tranny, probably use a boot like Thumpe/BMW uses now on air-cooled. Could be a nice bike if the forks and shock get some attention as well...one can dream! Happy Holidays! EZ |

A new 500CC Harley? It makes sense. HD has no entry-level bike. The 883 is not a beginner bike. Harley has a long history of offering some smaller displacement bikes, even if they were Aermacchis with HD branding. People tend to stay with what they learn on. If they start on a small metric, they tend to move up to a bigger metric and then an even bigger metric. Harley is running out of new customers. They are going the way of WW II vets. If HD really wants to still be around in another decade or two, they need to attract younger riders, and they need a bike that folks feel comfortable starting on. If HD had a 500 or 650 V-Twin that was along the lines of the "imitation HD" Yamaha, they could sell it for more than a Yamaha, and it would be a good starter bike with the HD brand. To get something quick, why not revamp the Blast and call it an HD? The Blast is a great first bike. A lot of folks in my Harley Owner's Group Chapter have looked for a beginner bike for spouse/partner/sibling and virtually all of them have ended up with something along the lines of a Honda Rebel. There is an occasional Blast, but there is no local part/service source for Buells. Harley dealers (who weren't also Buell dealers) won't touch them and won't even order parts unless you happen to have the HD part number (like for rejetting). So..... Is this for real? I doubt it, but it would make a lot of sense. Right now, HD does not have anything they can use for their Rider's Edge classes (except for left-over Blasts and parts bikes) How about bringing back the boxer :-) (The boxer was a an opposed cylinder 2 with fore and aft pistons - they were popular in England but never caught on in the U.S.) The V-rod never really caught on in the U.S. either, but they are a kick to ride. I have several bikes, but the Blast is still just pure joy to ride. Thanks again for all the help from the folks on this forum. I love the Pirelli tires so far, and the V&H exhaust with rejetting made a different bike out of it. The Pirellis are clearly going to outlast the OE Dunlops and they ride and handle as well or better. I think better. I'll report back when I have to change them. |

Well, this is kind of 'old news' in repeat which I'm not buying. Buell was their way into the market you just described and HD decided 'thats not what we build' and killed Buell. They've got everything they need to build a small bike, but they still dont. We'll see what happens with India, of which both Buell and HD have their eyes on. Again, I hope I'm wrong, but until I see it on the showroom floor (and available for order and for more than just a race qualifying production run), its just another bad rumour |
