My brake light seems to be stuck...could it be the switch...I put new indicators on recently and spliced the old connectors on to the new indicators...any help would be appreciated...thanks in advance... |

did the lights work properly after you spliced in the new ones? try this: 1) disconnect back brake switch. Do lights work properly with front brake only? 2) reconnect back brake. Disconnect front brake switch. Do back brake lights work properly? 3) If this does not narrow it down, then recheck your splices on your new lamps (might want to check that first, could save you time) |

Got me, however, if no one can figure it, you can try posting it in the regular KV for an answer as well. GT - JBOTDS! EZ |

I've discovered that I have yet another issue, but fortunately it's a minor one. My brake light isn't activated by either the front brake or the rear brake. I've been looking for an electrical schematic, but I don't see one in my operator's manual or the repair manual. The tail light is on, but it's dim so I don't think it's an issue of one of the brake switches sending a constant signal to the rear light. Could be, but I would expect a brighter output from the tail light if the brake sensors were really sending a signal that the brakes have been applied. I also can't determine where the rear brake sensor is. I can follow the front brake signal line into the bunch of wires, but I can't see anything anywhere near the rear brake that looks like an electrical wire or something to connect to the rear light harness under the seat near the fuse box. Any ideas from the community? |

Yes, I quickly found that to be the issue. One of the bulb wire things was broken while the other was fine. I didn't think it would have been that at first because I just put in a new one a few months back. Maybe these Sylvania's don't last as long as they say... |

The switch does not like the light? Which switch? The foot brake or the hand brake switch? |

There are several ways to test it: Turn the key on, then unplug the brake switch and use a piece of wire to short between the two terminals in the plug (wiring harness side, not switch side). If the brake light comes on, then the switch was the problem. (unless the plug just wasn't connected well, or is very dirty) If you have a meter, one of the terminals in the plug should have voltage present with key on - if not, either the bulb or fuse is bad, or there is a dirty/unplugged connection or wiring is cut or rubbed through. If the front brake lights it up, then you can pretty much rule out the bulb, socket, and fuse. You can also test the switch with a meter - it should have infinite resistance (ohms) between the two terminals on the switch normally, then go to very low or zero resistance when you press the brake. |

The foot brake. sorry bout that. The hand brake does makes the light work. Where is the switch for the foot brake? Thanks. MD |
