The widget comes with the bar ends, not with the bars. If you don't have one you can fabricate on by using a rubber grommet the same diameter as the inside of the bars (about 3/4 inch in length), 2 washers (slightly smaller than the bars) and a nut that fits on the bolt. You put the bolt thru the bar end. Then put 1 washer on the bolt. Add the rubber grommet, attach the other washer and add the nut. Insert all this into the bar. By then tightening the screw thru the bar end you will compress the grommet, thereby locking the bar end into the bar. (I hope this makes sense!) Good luck, Chris C |

Thats a really great suggestion. Very impressive! When I'm tightening the screw, what is preventing the nut on the other side from turning? |

Hopefully, friction. You will not need a great deal of torques to secure a set of bar ends. If it fails to grip use a nut that is tight inside the handle bars. Wrap the bugger in tape. Use a "grip' washer next to the nut. Solder or glue the nut to the washer. Any other imaginative thing you can think of to stop it spinning! Long story short: My bar ends came w/o any way of securing them. What I described is the solution I used. Good luck! Chris C |

Probably the diameter of the nut is just large enough to fit inside but doesnt allow it to turn due to the hex corners hitting the wall...Water tight my friend |

I have bar end weights that came from HVMP. I used stock Buell hand grips, cut the end to the edge of the bar, popped in the BEW and tightened the bolt to secure in place. Not the prettiest on the block, but they work well. Have never even had to adjust them. http://www.hvmp.com/ |

I'm thinking carbon fiber handlebars, and your talking weighted bar ends - takes all kinds to make a great Blast forum - thanks Maggie! I have mirrors going into my barends, however, I'll bet they weigh less than even the light barends referenced - lol - glad you took that bull by the horns - EZ |

I have just that on mine Djeroc. I did it to use a 80/100 H4 bulb. Most any 7" round complete assembly should work. |

The fly screen holes are spaced a tad differently on the mounting bracket, however, a slight bend in the brackets fly-screen bracket arm would fix that - so yes the bucket for 99 X1 would fit. EZ |

I got a question, that I'm sure you answered before, but I'm asking again. Dropped the bike in the parking lot and busted the front left smoked turn signal lens. That's the only real damage aside from a bent toepeg. I'll see if I can put a wrench on it and straighten it today. Anyways, my question is this: Does the xb and blast have the same turn signals? I looked online and found an outer turn signal lens for an xb, but I wasn't sure if it would fit on the blast. Thanks! |

The XB outer lens has the same part number as the Blast outer lens. So they are the same. The actual turn signals have different parts numbers but my very brief research was only to confirm the outer lens'. |

Hello everyone! I was just given a Clear Alternatives integrated tail light for my P3. I believe the model is CTL-0023-IT. But I'm not sure how to wire it into the stock harness. Has anyone ever installed one of these that could help? Are they any good or are they crap and thats way it was free? It also came with two resistors which I assume is to slow the rapid blink issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated because I havent had much luck searching so far. |

Wire it straight hard wire, ditch the resistors, and get a flasher - Tridon-EP36-Flasher - a common auto flasher - about ten bucks - bolts right in, and works - life is now much easier - do you have their wiring diagram - the Buell manuals is very good as well - together it would be easy. I hard wired my Moto LED tail-light in, and signals to make it fit better - wiring, etc. EZ |

Just put on a pair of the third eye bar end mirrors. Really happy with them! Thanks EZ, saw you recommend them a few times. Now I am itching to get a new headlight/fairing. |

I saw this thread about using PVC to build a fairing: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42 7170&page=8 Has anyone else heard about doing this? I think it would be cool to make a custom cafe fairing. |

Rear Isolator Bolts Sheared Off So I've been tinkering with my 2003 Blast since I got it last week. Today I was cleaning it up and found a bracket under the back of the bike that looked loose. After consulting the parts manual, I figured out that it's the rear isolator. Three of the four bolts are sheared off. I'm pissed and heartbroken at the same time. I don't have the money or time to fix this. Can it even be fixed? It looks like the bolts thread into the transmission case. I took a few pics to show you guys and gals. |

No pics...... But it might be a fairly easy fix, except time wise. If you remove the mount the bolts might easily unscrew. |
