Allen, nice job on the exhaust. Its no small feat to get it bent around everything on the Blast and still have clearance for things to move. |

Gear, If all you need is from the Y back, I can ask him how much to duplicate what I have. It wont be coated, just stainless pipe, all I did was buy some header paint and paint it. Let me know if you want me to ask him. |

I would just want the Y into two straight pipes so I can add mufflers. I dont need the flares or hang bracket. |

Get rid of your front and rear blinker stalks. Ditch the Dunlops before they ditch you! EZ |

Yeah, cherry bomb autozone special for $22. After paint and fab of the mount, and fittings, the exhaust cost about $40 total. It sounds pretty loud when flogging it, but its pretty nice at cruising speeds. I've got oversized perelli diablos on the way. And low pro-turn signals are on the list to buy. I'm also ditching the corny "Blast!" sticker for some pegasus decals on the tank. I was about to ditch the bike when i first bought it (ran like crap). But after the rejet, and shimming the needle, the whole bike opened up. She a fun bike to ride, and confuses all bikers i pull up next to. |

Interesting idea on the fly screen! It blends well and it wasnt until I looked to see what the fairing was off of, then it hit me! |

Yeah, it was sitting on my work bench and I grabbed it and held it up to the headlight and it was like a lightbulb went off. It actually does a pretty decent job of deflecting wind. I also added some superbike bars. They're so much better than the drag bars I had. And the oversized pirelis make it a whole new bike. |

A better angle of the stock fairing, mounted to my current fairing for a windscreen.

Just joined; here's my Blast. The front end won't stay this way long... not exactly stock, either. |

Wow, Blast looks cool with that color combo. We'll have to get together soon for a local ride. And Welcome to the Forum. |

Thanks for the welcome; I'm going for a ride through ACH next Saturday with the AYR group from Meetup.com. I've been finding a lot of people to ride with on there. The bike will have a significant change in appearance soon, as I've already ordered this front headlight/fairing/windscreen/turn signal assembly: and have already ordered a white-face chrome-rimmed 13k 1-cyl tachometer as well. Hope to get that fairing by that weekend! |

frankly I have no idea what brand tires are on it, I haven't really scrutinize them. Why do you say that about the dunlops, would that be in reference to my front and rear? Ironically blue and black was the theme to my previous bike, a beat up katana, so the theme was appropriate. This one I got in black with blue accents. go figure. |

BTW: fairing's coming monday. The only thing that worries me is that it says the bulbs it comes with are T-15 - I really hope that refers to the signals. I work for a lighting company, so if that's true I'm retrofitting another light source in there. |

We can tell by the tread what they are. They are almost the worst handling tires for the Blast and better, cheaper options are available. One example: the Blasts front brakes are very effective. They'll lock up that front Dunlop and throw you to the ground. You want the stickiest tire you can find up front and the Dunlop is far from it. PS Welcome to Badweb! |

Even Buell/Harley Davidson, both of which shunned the Blast like the red headed stepchild, thought to change the stock tires from Dunlops to Pirelli's. Since HD has been using Dunlops as stock tires for years, it wasnt a move to cut costs (of course thats my opinion). |

Yeah, the front tire needs replacement soon. The rear is a KENDA. What should I replace the front with? |

Pirelli MT 75 stock size replacement-stock on blasts in the last years of production. Pirelli "scooter" Diablo 110/80x16 if you want faster turn in (the tire is a smaller diameter than stock). Or an Avon, Metzler, Pirelli in a 110 or 100/90 x16 if you want to slow the steering down (this tire is larger/taller than stock-I do not remember the specific tire brands and sizes, but there's a lot more room in the front for a bigger tire than in the rear. Most important is sticky. Going for tread mileage in the front is pointless as even the softest front will outlast the rears 2 to 1. Extra mileage is not worth the sacrifice in safety). |
