Hi guys, Blast is an 07, Battery is original. Been having starting troubles past few days, I figured it was due to it sitting for 2 1/2 weeks waiting for new tires. Anyways I put it on a Battery Tender overnight on a Sun. and it still had trouble cranking for next two days but it did start. So 3rd day I had to bump start it to get home, took a few tries due to the high compression of these things. Almost home when I had some issues at a few stop lights. It had a hard time leaving from a stop, it seemed to sputter and pop, and I had a moment where the Speedo was dead at 0 mph and the odometer was blank. But it came back, and I made it home. So after a BIG, LOOONG story, my question is... Is it time for a new battery or am I looking at other charging issues? And if so can anybody recommend a different battery or is it better to just order a stock one from H.D. I went to Kragen/O'reilley and they wanted $89.99 but it would have to be ordered. Any help or suggestions is always welcome. Thanx | ||

HD battery is fine. You just have to make sure you can mount it sideways if you get anything else besides HD. I think its the same battery as the V-rod (sure sure though). I think its other issues though. I would definitely check all the main battery connections including the ground strap in the front isolator/horn area. | ||

Check the battery first, Charge it up, let it sit and then check the voltage, if it is less than 12 volts you need a new one. I have had the original Buell battery for years 2 on Blasts and one on a Uly, they are usually not the problem unless you put a bullet through it. Batteries Plus carry the battery also. | ||

I want to do a public service announcement!! ATTENTION! When you go to buy a battery, make sure it is an AGM Battery! The reason I am stating this is because, I bought what I thought was an AGM battery at Batteries Plus and what I ended up getting was an "AGM Technology" battery from Batteries Plus! The Batteries Plus "AGM Technology" failed on me and when I took it back i found out that is was nothing more than a flooded (liquid acid) battery that was sealed before it was shipped! What a RIPOFF! Therefore, I hereby declare Batteries Plus is no longer a preferred vendor and the ONLY battery to buy is a genuine H-D(spit) AGM battery for the Buell or an Oddessy battery which is a true AGM battery built to military specs. The other option of course is the L-ion battery which is only a few more bucks then that of an Oddessy battery. | ||

When you buy a battery put it on a charger and FLOAT IT ... The people that sell batteries are in the business to sell batteries ... BATTERY Class 101 for those that want to understand them, just PM me for the FREE "INFO" ... |
