Sure - open picture in paint, select resize, pick 620 pixels and enter - save as, and your done - then post new resized pic. This is what the test ride was about - some in city and country riding to really test out the new fairings lighting system and the upgraded bulbs I put in - damn thing is brighter than my CRs! Here's the story of how I got my first bike: I just bought my first motorcycle ever on my birthday, June 24, 2011 (A 2004 Buell Blast). I found it listed on Craigslist from a local seller. When the time came to go look/buy/pick up the bike, I was in a bind, because I had never ridden before, so I needed some way to get it back to my house. I went to the local motorcycle outfitters shop and asked around, and about an hour later found a couple of guys to give me a hand! Low and behold, they were members of a local motorcycle club (Steel Dragons)! We pulled up to the seller's place, they gave it a test drive for me, and were completely cool. I was amazed at how helpful they were, not to mention I caught them just before they were leaving for a club BBQ! On the way back, we stopped by one of their houses and I saw what they normally rode on (some custom Hyabusa's). We finally got the Blast back to my house, and I bid them farewell. I just think it's really cool that a couple of MC guys helped out a guy they'd never seen before, and made my birthday the best ever! Thanks guys! | ||

finally got some real time in the saddle the last two days! the weather here was great & my sister rented a place at bar harbor in acadia national park 3 hrs from me. i rode up yesterday then today, she rented scooters & i rode my blast for 2hrs around the loop road which hugs the coast half the way and along the ridges of mountain lakes the rest of the way. it's only 25mph but really scenic. i got some video if there's a way to upload it. if not i can post to youtube and put a link here. afterward i rode the 3hrs back home. the last hour sucked thanks to unexpected rain but wasn't enough to dampen my spirits, just my clothes. on the way up yesterday i got up to 97mph! i think the 515 kit would put me over the top but i noticed a sputtering kind of like when the rev limiter kicks in at lower gears. | ||

I don't think you want one like in my video Swampy. I was glad I had my Blast to ride while my family rode those. I've ridden several scooters in my day and one of the things I expect of them is to be practically silent. Those ones sound like weed whackers! EZ - My little brother has the same front fairing as you on his SV650..however the lighting on it is not that bright and I fear in his youth, he will outrun his headlights and get into some real trouble. what bulbs did you put in that thing? Big bro might have to dance with little bro's prom date and fix up her headlights  | ||

They are FTE 12V-35W open lens - run them as a pair with the LEDs all on high, then use low for an off. That allows you to do electrical work on the bike without serious drain to the battery. Make sure to get the open lens/no front lens that helps in dissipating a lot of heat from the light. EZ (Message edited by ezblast on July 08, 2011) | ||

Fathermike, the Big Kid has a few electric scooters for sale at the store he works but......those things are $pensive! I would just go with a cheapo gas job because I would keep it at the lake and as you know.....it snows most of the time in Michigan, and when it isn't snowing it is too cold to do anything out doors. Before the white men settled the area and put up permanent encampments, the indians even went south for the winter. | ||

Hi Fathermike - thanks for the video feed. It took me back a few years when I took my 2nd long distance tip on my Blast from Florida to Maine. Took the trip around the park that you show in the video later in the day. Towards the end I got lost and missed the exit, had to go all the way around again! A few ramblings from the original Blastard! Funny - riding the Blast, chasing one drop leaks, fixing one, then finding another, so I'm doing a lot of test riding - lol - the bike and I are so in sync, picking any line is just a thought, shifting and braking are effortless, handling is nimble and quick - just the way I like it! People know instantly that the bike is no longer stock and more of a work in progress. People are always asking questions and just looking. A motorcycle embodies fun, and for me the Blast is still a Blast! It has never lost its appeal to me. EZ | ||

Yeah - its grown on me, and helps the bike stand out as different - lol - oddly enough I still average about 50 to 100 miles a week on it, and that is with the CR doing commute duty - lol EZ  | ||

I pulled in behind this little 600cbr cafe - he looks behind and squirts away splitting traffic on the right, so I pick the left and my line opens up much cleaner than his, so I wait for him at the light, nod and smile, he takes off wicking it up, but in the traffic, I'm right on his tail and when it gets narrow, I leave him stuck as I again pull to the front - my mantra of 26" makes my bike small enough to squeeze past most anything - lol - and makes commuting fun! The CR people get out of the way of because it intimidates, the Blast makes it like the people are barely there. Why can't my CR be as fun as my Blast? Because my Blast is fun! EZ | ||

LOL - I own a 1125CR - I use it for commuting, because it will not handle as well as a modified Blast will handle - fact verified by EBR - lol - Buells are the best handling Superbikes in the world - but the best handling bikes are split right now between the Formula bikes - which have the edge through development, and the growing supermotard race bikes which must handle various varied road conditions. To get my 1125 to handle as well as a Formula bike would be another 10,000 minimum spent on suspension upgrades - aka close to where the 1190 already is and the 1190 is only 35 lbs heavier than a formula bike - lol - that was the kicker for me - knowing my Blast - modified - was closer to a formula bike in handling than my 1125 still irks me, so I throw that 1125 puppy to the back roads at least 2 to 3 times a week on the way home to better my riding of it, to at least bring it closer to my Blasts innate ability, and I ride my Blast for fun! I can do Morgan Territory road on the Blast easily - back and forth; on the CR the work out is much harder and less fun, and I'm ready for the easy way home after going down its length once on the CR. Morgan Territory Road being the most difficult in the Bay area. I like the XB low editions because their extra lowness helps improve their handling, but unless I bought a 2008 or above, I would end up having to work on it too much. For those out of the loop - the Blast still caries the statistic as HD's most reliable motorcycle - for 12 years running - lol - so a lot of what is said here must be taken with a grain of salt - beginners are the toughest/harshest owners of motorcycles, yet still the majority of Blasts just keep humming along. You rarely see an over 2003 Blast having issues - usually it is the first 3 years of Blasts that you find on all the boards with issues, yet even those manage to keep going once their issues are resolved, usually new gaskets and ignition - lol - and Das Boot! I'm no hero on the 1125, on the Blast I can lean the bike over pretty easy, but my comfort level on the CR has not led me to that level of ability - till today. I've been using my 1125 to commute so I could wear out the second stator before warranty end, even though it mostly lives either at idle or above 5000 rpm, and because that is the best way to get familiar with a bike - thinking long term. I decided at least two to three times a week I would take Marsh Creek to Dear Valley to home - total home ride a little over forty miles one way - lol - still that would be about fifteen miles of lane splitting Yngnacio, then copping a right into paradise. I want to get real comfortable on the bike and have gone over the suspension enough to know that it is fine, at least for my speeds so far. There fore it must be me being unfamiliar with how it delivers its speed. Marsh Creek into Dear Valley - serious twisties with decent roads - then a leisurely ride into Antioch to the other side then home. I've been doing this for a while and still was not satisfied with my progress. Today was different! God smiled on me and I was Blessed. In front of me was eight brilliant pieces of German four-wheeled engineering - two Porches, four BMWs, and two Benzs - all of the sporting variety - my goal was just to stay with them. Man they booked, I stopped looking at my speedo when I realized that they had been easily maintaining twenty over and had been pushing thirty to forty over. I saw the rear slide just a tad in a few corners on the Benz - I kept following them muttering, if the damn cars can do it, so can I! Keep up! So I did, reminding myself to counter-steer correctly, keep the opposite shoulder aimed at the mirror in the lean, keep counter balance, etc - it all flowed together - happily so!. So nice - cut my time by almost twenty minutes, enjoyed beautiful scenery, destroyed some strips - lol - and was so happy to finally have a bit of progress - in another year I'll be ready for a track day, if I can get myself to consistently ride like that then I'm going to bug Terry, Jim and Thomas to come with me so I can follow some fast lines. I was so proud of myself, I gassed up at the Shell, and got a swisher and a Starbucks to contemplate the fun I just had. Thanks to American, German, and Austrian engineering. Taking a last puff on the cigar, putting it out I turned to the bike and thought - We're doing that again! And I didn't kill myself! What a beautiful day! Got Thump?! Just Blasting on the Dark side! Hi everyone, Rode my Blast to work for the first time today. It's roughly 28 mi. each direction -- mostly freeway. Seeing how I'm still a beginner I didn't want to be on the I-91 freeway of So. Cali. but alas... I had no choice. So I went as far as I could on surface streets and hit the freeway -- semi scared, semi excited. Boy, is this thing fun to ride! My wrists hurt a little bit though, from holding onto that throttle and the handlebar. I'm sure those muscles will develop over time. Just wanted to share my excitement, that is all. =) | ||

Ohboryrico, now you need to leave a little bit earlier and ride thru Carbon Canyon to get to work. Much safer than the 91fwy. But at least you're going against the major traffic flow.. | ||
